Barangay Dagupan Centro is set to receive the national government’s Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Award (LTIA) being the 1st Runner-up under the component city category during the 2015 evaluation commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Local Government Code (LGC) of 1991.
Tabuk City Local Government Operations Officer Mediatrix Aliño said that Barangay Dagupan Centro will be receiving a plaque of appreciation and a cash incentive of P150,00.00 on December 8 this year in Manila.
The Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) she said was conceptualized to strengthen the Katarungang Pambarangay as an indigenous conflict resolution structure at the grassroots level.
Thus this system of granting economic benefits and other incentives to Lupong Tagapamayapa which demonstrate exemplary performance and generate greater awareness and support from the various sectors of the society towards a comprehensive human development.
Incentives are provided in recognition of a LGU’s contribution on good governance in the areas of transparency and accountability, planning and fiscal management.
Utilization of the fund incentive she said would depend on the recipients’ priority project which is also in-line with the peace and order development of their communities.
Aliño presented the Dagupan Centro lupon during the flag ceremony at the City Hall on December 18.
This is the fourth time the barangay landed in the finals of the LTIA. In 2012 it placed third runner up and in 2013 and 2014, it was second runner up. ** By Geraldine Dumallig/City Information Office
