LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) — The Department of Education – Cordillera (DepEd-CAR) recognized the best implementing schools and partners in the implementation of the Brigada Eskwela Program in the region.
Through the Regional Brigada Eskwela ’21 Awards held at the DepEd-CAR Covered Court in Wangal, La Trinidad on July 19, DepEd-CAR recognized schools in the region that have exerted extraordinary and exemplary efforts in the implementation of the said program.
Plaques of recognition were awarded to the national winners of the Brigada Eskwela Best Implementing Schools for 2021, namely Basbasa Elementary School and Lubon National High School for the small category; Adiwang Elementary School and Eastern Bontoc National Agricultural and Vocational High School for the medium category; Alfonso Lista Central School and Lawig National High School for the large category, and Lucban Elementary School and Kalinga National High Schoo for the mega school category.l
Seventeen finalists from the schools divisions of Apayao, Benguet and Kalinga also received certificates of recognition and plaques of appreciation.
Regional Brigada Eskwela Special Awards was also conferred to other deserving schools.
Also awarded were the regional and division level federated Parents-Teachers Association presidents, Division basic education coordinators, all the provincial and congressional offices in Cordillera, and LGU-Barlig in Mountain Province.
DepEd CAR also gave plaques of appreciation to its partner agencies and institutions for their unwavering support and exemplary contribution for the cause of education. These include the PROCOR, 503rd Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army, DA-CAR, PIA-CAR, OCD-CAR, DOST-CAR, BFP-CAR, DOH-CAR, POPCOM-CAR, DSWD-CAR, BJMP-CAR, DENR-CAR, NEDA-CAR, TESDA-CAR, CHED-CAR, DOLE-CAR, Benguet State University, and the NIIT-Baguio.
City Savings Bank Baguio City Regional Business Head Giovanni Tactacan, the guest of honor and speaker of the activity, reiterated their support to the education sector by providing technological support to schools, among others.
“We are one with you in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of teachers and students and non-teaching personnel. In support to the basic education, learning continuity plan, the bank mobilized the provision of safety and sanitation essentials through the implementation of nationwide Brigada Eskwela,” Tactacan said.
“Education is not just a responsibility of DepEd alone. We believe that public private partnership that promotes collaboration among business groups and government units is the key to achieve impactful education programs,” he emphasized.
DepEd-CAR Assistant Regional Director Florante Vergara said that the event was a recognition to the worthwhile undertakings of everyone involved in the Brigada Eskwela.
