BAUKO– “All for Health towards Health for All, Achieve!” was the message of Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Ubial during her visit at the Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital (LHMRH) for the blessing and inauguration of dialysis unit and other hospital facilities last April 12, 2017.
Secretary Ubial recounted the transformation of LHMRH from the biggest Rural Health Unit to the largest clinic and now making efforts to become the “North Star” Premier Medical Center of the country.
The secretary also acknowledged the tremendous teamwork and efforts exerted for the upgrading of the facilities of the hospital.
The secretary congratulated everyone for the big transformation, emphasizing that the present administration thru the Department of Health envisioned providing accessible and affordable quality health care to all citizens of the country.
The department was cited as resilient and responsive to the needs of every Filipino as the secretary underscored the Philippine Health Agenda for 2016-2022 summarized into three aspects: financial protection, better health outcomes and responsiveness.
Secretary Ubial also informed that the health budget is bigger than that of the defense department. It is number three in the ranking with the amount of P155 billion allocation this year. Accordiong to her, it is expected that the amount will increase next year up to 200B.
In response, Congressman Maximo Dalog together with local officials and the LHMRH staff expressed their profound gratitude and heartiest welcome to the passionate and compassionate secretary for her valuable time in attending the event.
Dalog also conveyed his profound gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte and to the entire DOH family for giving an additional budget of P50 million to finance the second phase of the Regional Drug Rehab Center. Likewise, the congressman was happy to inform the guests that Mountain Province was declared drug free.
The congressman further emphasized that the ten (10) dialysis units that will soon be operational will be of great help to kidney patients in the province because they will not have to travel anymore to Baguio and Manila just to have their treatment.
Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial was accompanied by Health Undersecretary Herminigildo Valle, CAR Regional Director Lakshmi Legazpi, Dr. Ricardo Runez and some staff of the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.
