CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga,- – Seven establishments in the province of Kalinga were awarded the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Bagwis Seal of Excellence Awards for fair business practices, good service to costumers and putting safeguard on their rights.
The Pandayan Bookshop of Franz Janel Pineda-Jared Burnot was the lone recipient of the Bagwis Silver award.
Bronze awardees were the Elegancia De Weste Dry Goods of Marvic Gonzales, Ruben Bides of Bides Marketing, Juruena’s Dry Goods and Footwear of Juanita Juruena, Lauane’s Gen. Merchandize of Anamarisa Maymaya, Bongodne Hardware and Gen. Merchandize of Divina Teckney, and Cordillera Hardware of Shirley Balbino.
Assistant DTI-CAR Dir. Grace Baluyan assisted by Gov. Jocel Baac, Rep. Allen Jesse Mangaoang, Vice Gov. James Edduba, Mayors Ferdinand Tubban and Johnwell Tiggangay honored the awardees during the opening of the Kalinga Treasures trade fair.
The DTI-Bagwis Program gives due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers while practicing responsible business where consumers get the best value for their money. The program also encourages the setting up of Consumer Welfare Desks (CWDs) or an equivalent customer relations office inside the mall that will provide information to consumers and serve as a mechanism for the speedy resolution of consumer complaints.
Bronze award is given in compliance with Fair Trade Laws and CWD or an equivalent customer relations office inside the mall; Silver for the Achievement of Bronze requirements + Social Responsibility; and Gold is achievement of Silver requirements + some elements aligned to ISO 9001. **PIA Kalinga
