Last August 16, 2016 DTI-Benguet Provincial Director Freda M. Gawisan released four cheques for the 2016 Bottom-Up-Budgeting (BuB) projects of Tublay Local Government Unit, amounting to P2.644M. This was done at the mayor’s office in the presence of Municipal Mayor Armando Lauro, Councilor Reynaldo Sotero, the municipal treasurer, accountant, agricultural officer, environment and natural resources officer, mayor’s staff and DTI-Benguet staff.
The fund shall be used to strengthen the coffee, root crops and cut-flower industry clustering development programs of the municipality. Earlier on May 12, 2016, the same office released P1,620M BuB fund to the LGU for the development of the vegetable and coffee industry clusters.
The BuB fund is released by the Department of Budget and Management to National Line Agency partners identified by the LGUs in implementing their identified priority poverty reduction projects. One good component of the BuB program is that these projects are identified by civil society organizations and are in the menu of programs/projects/activities of national line agencies.
Aside from the BuB fund release, PD Gawisan also discussed the possibility of Tublay LGU to be establishing this 2016 its Negosyo Center as mandated by RA # 10644 otherwise known as “Go Negosyo Act”. The Negosyo Center shall be supervised by the MSMED Council in providing business registration assistance, business advisory services, business information and advocacy to entrepreneurs. **
