BAGUIO CITY (PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry – Cordillera (DTI-CAR) enjoins the public to support the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the region.
As part of the MSME Month this July, the DTI-CAR will hold an Agrario Trade Fair at SM Baguio from July 21 to August 5.
“Dagiyay agrarian reform beneficiaries ken dagiyay communities tayo nga na-asistaran ket ag-display da iti laklako da iti SM Baguio (our agrarian reform beneficiaries and assisted communities will display their products at SM Baguio),” DTI-CAR SME Development Division OIC Margaret Ramos said during the recent Usapang PIA with Kap. Peter Wasing.
Ramos said various products of the local MSMEs in the region such as processed coffee, gourmet coffee, cacao, processed foods, weaving products, decors, among others will be on display and will be sold during the fair.
Aside from the trade fair, every Negosyo Center in the region will conduct entrepreneurial trainings for the MSMEs.
Ramos also invited the MSMEs in the region to join the National MSME Summit 2023 to be held on July 18, 2023 at the Manila Hotel.
With the theme, “Upgrade, Upskills, and Upsize MSMEs”, the summit aims to recognize the performing MSMEs as well as the agencies and the private institutions who are assisting in the resolution of the plights and concerns of the MSMEs, Ramos added.
The event also aims to cultivate entrepreneurship, and enhance the programs and policy design capacity of the public sector for MSMEs.
Pursuant to Magna Carta for MSMEs, the second week of July is declared as the MSME Development Week to institute continuing awareness of the primacy of small business in nation-building and in people empowerment, and to celebrate and espouse the firm commitment of the State in the promotion, growth and development of small business. **JDP/DEG-PIA CAR
