“Love Can Build A Bridge” this Christmas
After about four months of singing and being viewed by millions around the world on TV, Sundance Head finally won The Voice 2016. One of the songs he interpreted (an original recording of The Judds sisters in 1990) was LOVE CAN BUILD A BRINDGE. It topped the iTunes charts amongst the other highly talented contestants. Sundance Head’s performance in typical country attire and with his powerful voice delivered the message of the song right into the heart which is very appropriate this Christmas season.
I’d gladly walk across the desert
With no shoes upon my feet
To share with you the last bite
Of bread I had to eat
How many of us ever had that kind of desire to share one’s last bite?
Don’t you think it’s time?
Yes it is high time after all these years of quarreling and destroying each other over money, power, name and fame despite our weekly attendance in church.
I would swim out to save you
In your sea of broken dreams
When all your hopes are sinkin’
Let me show you what love means
Love can build a bridge
Between your heart and mine
I would whisper love so loudly
Every heart could understand
That love and only love
Can join the tribes of man
Indeed, whether in the Cordillera or in Burkina Faso, it is only love that can unite us. But where should we begin?
The first step is to realize
That it all begins with you and me
And in unity the future is bright. We can achieve great things.
When we stand together
It’s our finest hour
We can do anything, anything
Towards that end, with the inspiration of the song and the spirit of Christmas as the right way instead of the wrong wordly way to which we had all been subscribing all these years, we should go from here.
Don’t you think it’s time? **
