BAGUIO CITY– In recognition of women’s efforts in protecting bodies of water, the Environment and Management Bureau in the Cordillera region launched a search dubbed “Women in Water.”
The search aims to give merit to women with remarkable leadership and achievements that have had an impact and influenced the development of the Cordilleran community.
Another criterion is that the nominee demonstrated leadership with a positive impact in the protection of the water quality management areas and adopted esteros/water bodies. Nominees must have been involved in the program for a minimum of three years.
Nominees must have continuously inspired members of the community towards the protection of the water body.
The search, which is open to all women leaders in communities and adopted esteros/water bodies in the area, is categorized into individuals or groups.
Self-nomination is not accepted. Nominator must be working in any entity such as a government agency, local government unit, academe or belonging to a non-government organization.
Accomplished nomination forms may be submitted to the Environmental Management Bureau DENR Compound, Gibraltar, Baguio City or email at embcar_air@yahoo.com. on or before June 3, 2019.
For the individual category, first prize winner will receive P15,000.00; second prize P10,000.00 while the third prize winner will receive P8,000.00.
