TABUK CITY, Kalinga – City Mayor Darwin Estrañero commended the Igorot Global Organization (IGO) for their contributions and initiatives especially in helping the city during the Padatong or welcome dinner of the organization held at Las Vegas Hotel on February 7, 2020.
In a message, Estrañero expressed his gratitude to the IGO for choosing Tabuk City as venue for the 13th Igorot International Consultation or IIC 13.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation to the contributions of your organization that are widely known and had gained respect across the globe. This shows how Igorots’ character is truly genuine with great solicitude for mankind,” Estrañero stated.
“Apart from the scholarship program that we have heard for our fellow Igorots, we are also thankful for your initiative for having a dental and medical mission conducted recently in our city and is truly a praise-worthy contribution,” he said.
As recalled, the IGO conducted a medical and dental mission from February 5 to 6, 2020 in the city benefiting hundreds of constituents.
Moreover, Estrañero expressed that the IGO’s contribution is a clear testimony that they have a great concern for their homeland and that their organization is living with a very good purpose.
“Undeniably, the existence of your organization was indeed indispensable in the community and the entire world. We are more than happy to have an organization like yours and we hope other organizations will follow your footsteps towards giving great emphasis in humanity,” the mayor underscored.
“Haan lang a siyak ti maragsakan, am-amin kami a taga-Tabuk. Maragsakan kami ta talaga a nagrigat ti agbakasyon but because of your eagerness to see your kailayans here in Tabuk City and also because of your desire to help our community, you took time and effort just to be here this month,” he added.
Estrañero then urged not to waste this time, instead, this should be grabbed as an opportunity to reflect on the ideals and teachings of our forefathers.
“Let us spare no effort in the preservation of our culture which I think is the only significant gift that we can offer to the younger generation and for posterity to come. So daytuy ti mabalin nga ipamana tayo, dagituy a kultura kadagituy annak tayo isunga mai-preserve kuma daytuy nga ayan tayo,” the mayor concluded.**By Leonora Lo-oy
