Everybody knows how special Baguio City is with the weather, beautiful places, the rainy season, festivals and the friendly people. Baguio City is getting popular for the past 5 years when more and more people noticed from all around the Philippines the great environment and the weather. Every weekend, there are almost 5 -10 thousand people who spend their holidays here in Baguio. Specially if there is a festival or any event which is famous, there might be more than a million people visiting the city.
There is one place which is similar to Baguio City, that is Lipa City. It has also a great weather and a great people. They also have one mall only (SM). The local people there look the same as Baguio’s people. They are also as friendly. I traveled to many places and the cities as a foreigner such as Cebu and Davao and the people showed me the same culture and attitude.
Many families have their own small businesses. They also wake up as early as Baguio’s people and very effective in performingtheir jobs. The weather is usually breezy. Sometimes, at night it can become very cold so you would see people wearing jackets. The wind makes it colder, it’s like autumn. But when its summer the weather is like spring. When its rainy with wind, it’s the same as Baguio’s during typhoons.
Lipa City is near many beautiful beaches and resorts that are public or private. There are resorts which charge eight thousand (8,000.00 Php) to twenty thousand (20,000.00 Php). There is also a lot of public beaches. They are clean and peaceful. Many local foods are served in the beaches where people can havegames and small parties.
But of course, Baguio City to many of us. but if you are traveling somewhere in Batangas, you pass by Lipa City. You will feel like you are home.**Ahmet Kiran
