Ferew is an agricultural cycle of the upland iFontoks particularly in Barangay Guinaang. During the “panagliton” or ripening of rice grains until the harvest period, human-like scarecrows and “chukrang,” or the hanged cans that create sounds when it is windy, are installed in the rice fields to drive away vermin or pests. This kind of practice is found to be effective and contributory to the abundant rice grain harvests.**Grabbed from the Municipality of Bontoc FB page
