PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte is not in favor of including an anti-political dynasty provision in a new constitution claiming such a measure would restrict people’s choices.
I am almost certain President Duterte would also contend that a slight modification of the provision to the effect that in the case of the position of president, there should be at least one term separating the terms of two family members is an unacceptable restriction of people’s choices.

Atty. Lorezo “Larry” Gadon, the complainant in the impeachment case against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, cannot substantiate his allegation that a certain oligarch will bribe the senators P200M each to acquit the Chief Justice.
Gadon is an impeachable source.

Aliping arraigned for destruction of Mt. Sto. Tomas forest reserve – news item
If the allegations have bases, there is something wrong with former Baguio Congressman Nicasio Aliping. He is a lawyer but he does not understand the term forest reserve. A Christian, he does not understand the word santo either. Di sinanto ang mga kahoy sa Sto. Tomas forest reserve.
Rushing, he will now be tried by Judge Emmanuel Rasing.

My educated estimate is that the P0.767T will be spent for the people and the rest will go to the greed and stupidity of government people.

According to the news, President Duterte said that Sanofi should be held accountable for the Dengvaxia vaccine mess.
Some people are disappointed he did not say Sanofi should be held accountable for the P6.4B shabu smuggling. (Tip: the joke is ungrammatical)

PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa will be appointed as Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief. He had said earlier that the President wants him to take a job where nobody else succeeded before.
Dela Rosa seems to have the delusion that he is a great success. What I know is he was supposed to lick the drug problem in six months. It has been a year since then and the problem is still very much with us.

Three former Philippine Military Academy (PMA) classmates of General dela Rosa are set to serve with him in the BuCor as Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre has indorsed the appointments of the three.
What would make the situation extremely interesting is if more PMA graduates will join them in the national penitentiary — on the other side of the bars.

Women scarce in Nobel Prize annals. While the number of women Nobel laureates has risen in recent decades –from just four between 1901, the first year of the prizes, and 1920 to 19 between 2001 and 2017—the 48 women crowned over the years represent just five percent of the 896 people honored, excluding organizations. – news item

President Duterte reminded government employees to follow his directive to stop displaying his portrait in their offices, and to instead put up pictures of the country’s heroes. He said that flattery will not work with him. His remarks came in the wake of the flak drawn by the OFW ID which has his picture on it.
The President should understand that there are already 16M including that fool who conceptualized the OFW ID who consider him a hero.
