Losing can instantly bring in a flurry of emotions. They come fast and come hard. And stick to us for a great length of time. With it comes the anger and frustration.
A competitive nature, I’ve come to learn is necessary for all people. Not just in sports can winning be an avenue for success.
A company can only promote a limited number of people. And the number one spot will be filled by a single person. The rest must bide their time and continue to compete.
The view of number one from the bottom looks ever great. All people yearn to go ever upwards. While everyday some of us fall down.
The good thing in life is it doesn’t end when we lose. We can always have a go at the spot up top. And have another chance.
However the build up of losses will always be as bitter as the first one. And it doesn’t seem to get better as we age.
The small victories are all the more important in our life where we don’t always win. It can keep us motivated to keep our eyes on the prize. And never lose hope. Under dogs are not out of the fight completely but are capable of punching above their weight class.
The small children we see today can be persons of giant statures in the future. And as long as we live, no matter how old, we can continue to build up a legacy that make the ghosts of the past proud.
When People have fiery eyes always looking to win, the events of friendly fire can have a higher chance of occurring. When we can’t differentiate between friends and foe. The people we work with and loved ones around us don’t need to be the enemies against our goals.
When all we see around us is competition, it will inevitably drive off all the people around us. Those who would have your back in times of need.
In our time when all countries are more connected than ever before, governments take great efforts in forming relationships with other nations. Forming partnerships to aid and improve their fellow countrymen. But officials take their pledge to their own flags. Their interests will always have a high place in their agenda.
Still, we see economic and different forms of aid to nations struck with adversity. As a nation so routinely hit by the worst storms, we are often on the receiving end of giving aid to nations.
Competing with one another does not have to bring out the savagery of people. The persons we call ‘boss’ did not get to where they are in life all alone. There are gems hidden among people. Especially those who still yearn for the top spot.
Giving a lending hand to others can help to keep the cycle of healthy competition flowing. And the people can help push one another to reach greater places. Instead of pulling one another to hide our deep insecurities.
