LAMUT, Ifugao – – Dr. Eva Marie C. Dugyon assumed as the new president of Ifugao State University (IFSU) vice Dr. Serafin Ngohayon.
“History unfolded for IFSU with the election of Dr. Eva Marie C. Dugyon as the second University President. The Board of Regents has spoken so let us all rally to support the new President,” said Ngohayon who served as the university president for two terms.
Dugyon accepted the responsibility to lead the university during the turn-over ceremony held at IFSU Main Campus last week.
“It is an honor and yet humbling for me to accept the mantle of leadership, which not only marks the beginning of new chapter, new milestone for IFSU, but also unlocks the door of new opportunities for all of us to challenge the status quo and create breakthroughs together for our university,” Dugyon said.
She stressed that she set herself and family with the commitment of serving the common good with utmost responsibility and integrity guided by the time-honored principle of ‘public office is a public trust.’
“It is in truth a great sacrifice on us which we are committed to endure with the grace of the Almighty God, from whom we draw our strength and to whom we dedicate this divine calling.
And to all who believe and trust in God’s will; and to those who sacrificed and fasted with me, thank you for the quantum leap of FAITH,” she added.
Dugyon is one of the four applicants for the presidency that include Dr. Camilo Pimentel, Dr. Napoleon Taguiling and Dr. Dinah Licyayo. **By Marcelo B. Lihgawon
