The International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO) of Ifugao State University (IFSU) unveiled a significant initiative – the Sustainability Challenge Cup – to mark a collective commitment towards advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) both within and beyond the University’s boundaries. The event was attended by key stakeholders including the administration, faculty, students, community members, and beneficiaries on February 15, 2023, at the Multipurpose Hall, IFSU Lamut Campus.
Said initiative aimed to record and measure the impact of activities conducted within and outside the University, utilizing a standardized SDG scoreboard. Specifically, to create an archive and centralized database of SDGs-related activities among all colleges and campuses in IFSU, develop a system for measuring the impact of SDGs-related activities, and foster SDGs-responsive initiatives as part of the University’s sustainable development programs. Additionally, it aims to provide a platform for different academic and non-academic departments to highlight their best practices in localizing and attaining the SDGs.
Mx. Clyde B. Pumihic, International Relations Officer, and Mx. RollyKeth B. Nabanalan, Information Officer I, served as facilitators for the event. This initiative is part of IFSU’s broader commitment to sustainability and internationalization through futures thinking and strategic foresight, aiming for a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous University.**Elvira M.
