LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) – – The provincial government of Ifugao commended three of its citizens for their honesty in turning over to authorities almost P1 million cash they found on a road.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved Resolutions No. 2023-282, 2023-283, and 2023-284. commending William Anudon, his grandson Cris Jericho Buccahan, and Jerry Inuguidan for their “honesty and integrity by turning over to authorities bundles of cash”.
Anudon and his grandson CJ, a grade 7 student at Asipulo National High School, found the bundle of money totaling to P305,000 along the Bahag-Amduntog Road on May 30, 2023. Without second thought and despite being wet and shivering due to the rain brought by Typhoon Betty, they went to the Asipulo Municipal Police Station and turned over the money.
On the same day, Inuguidan from Boko, Nungawa, Asipulo also found cash amounting to P685,000 while traversing the Bahag-Amduntog Road, which he promptly turned over to the police.
The lost and found money totalling to P990,000.00 was claimed by the thankful owners.
Said resolutions which are manifestations of appreciation for their act of honesty which reflects their profound sense of propriety, strength in character, and Christian values.
Vice-Governor Glenn Prudenciano led the SP members in awarding the resolutions of commendation to the three honest Ifugaos during the flag raising ceremony at the provincial capitol on July 17.
Anudon, Buccahan, and Inuguidan earlier received certificates of appreciation and cash incentives from the Asipulo Municipal Local Government and Municipal Police Station. **JDP/FBR-PIA CAR
