BAGUIO CITY – The city government has regularly paid tribute to its outstanding athletes for their astonishing feats in local and international competitions bringing pride and glory to the Summer Capital.
The city council passed a resolution congratulating, giving due recognition and appreciation to Godwin Amos Langbayan for winning two gold and one silver medals during the 2017 Asia Pacific Submission Jiu-Jitsu GI and No GI International Open held in Pasay City on November 5, 2017.
He also bagged two golds, one silver and one bronze during the Philippine-Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu National Championships and Damau Philippine International Jiu-Jitsu Tournament on September 30 and October 7 to 8, this year, respectively.
Langbayan is a resident of Camp Allen barangay and serviceman of the Philippine Air Force. He trains with the Air Force, Clube De Jiu Jitsu Filipinas and Team Lakay.
“His achievements has made our city proud and repeatedly shown the spirit of Baguio’s competitiveness and excellence to the entire country. The outstanding performance by our Baguio athletes that could only be attained through hard work, dedication and technique is worthy of commendation,” the measure states.**gaby keith
