The Cabalyero cops of the Kabayan Municipal Police Station (MPS) successfully rescued and transported a local tourist in Brgy. Bashong, Kabayan, Benguet on May 19, 2024.
According to Kabayan MPS, they received an urgent call from a tour guide reporting that a hiker needed medical assistance due to difficulty breathing while hiking the trails of Mt. Pulag National Park. Acting promptly, police officers, along with members of the Mt. Pulag Eco-Tour Guides & Porters Association and the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team, were deployed to the location.
Upon arrival, the team improvised a stretcher and carried the patient for more than four hours, passing through challenging terrain to reach their rented homestay at Sitio Babalak, where they administered first aid.
Subsequently, the Kabayan MPS officers transported the patient to Dennis Molintas District Hospital for appropriate medical treatment.
