CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) – -The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office conducted a short film making contest among women federations that aims to create interest and discover women’s creativity in promoting the importance of protecting their rights in celebration of the Women’s Month this March.
With the theme “We make CHANGE Work for Women: Juana sa Panahon ng Pandemya: Kaya!”, the contest is open to city and municipal Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) organizations in the province.
The video must be set with the COVID-19 pandemic as backdrop posing both challenges and opportunities for women, said Judith Puday, PSWDO Focal Person on Women Welfare.
This aims to highlight women’s participation in battling the pandemic as well as feature gender issues exacerbated by the pandemic- how women thrive despite the circumstances and share support systems, and government programs that address women issues and concerns.
A contestant may submit one entry running to a maximum of five minutes focusing on the theme. Entries should be original and in the Ilokano dialect.
Video resolution should be at least 720p (1280×720), 25fps frame rate; should not contain any offensive language, image and/or content and appropriate for general viewership; and submitted in a flask disk.
Deadline of submission of entries at the PSWDO is on March 15, 2021.
All entries are subject to initial screening from March 15 to 19 and qualified entries will be uploaded on the official Province of Kalinga Youtube Channel and Facebook Page on March 20 for public viewing and voting on March 27.
The criteria are relevance to the theme (40%); creativity and originality (30%); and technical quality (30%).
The first prize of Php15,000.00; Php10,000.00 for second; and Php7,000.00 for the third await the winners. All will receive certificates of recognition.
Other Women’s Month activities include Purple Monday” which requires the wearing of purple shirts every Monday of March and strengthening of the Provincial/Municipal Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (P/MLCAT-VAWC).
