CITY OF TABUK,Kalinga, May 10(PIA)– Kalinga hand-crafted fashion and native wearables will soon find their places in the global marketplace through the internet.
The Kinwa (Kalinga Indigenous Weavers Association) Etnika will be Kalinga’s first micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) to join the electronic commerce of the Department of Science and Technology(DOST). It will become an oneSTore hub targeting to provide customers with effortless shopping experiences and retailers with simple and direct access to home-made attires through electronic commerce.
OneSTore was developed and is currently operated by the DOST incorporating e-commerce in the operations of MSMEs to widen their target markets.
Leizel Isaguirre of DOST here said Kinwa Etnika has met DOST’s set criteria. Under the draft memorandum of agreement, Kinwa Etnika determines the markup price for each product and responds to orders within 24 hours upon placement . It is also required to ensure that products to be sold have undergone and passed quality testing by DOST.
The oneSTore Hub-Kalinga will be oneSTore’s physical store where products from different MSMEs will be consolidated, packaged and shipped to customers. MSMEs particularly those assisted by the department’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) can bring their products to the hub for marketing, Isaguirre said.
There are 23 oneSTore hubs established nationwide. **JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga
