BAGUIO CITY (PIA) – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) together with its partner agencies and stakeholders will spearhead a “Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama” (Konsulta) Caravan at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center on May 23, 2023.
Noland Sabling of PhilHealth-CAR said this will be the second leg of the caravan to be conducted in Luzon which will be graced by Konsulta Ambassadress, First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos.
With the campaign message of “Bayanihan para sa Kalusugan, Tara Na sa Konsulta Caravan”, this aims to ramp up the interest of members and stakeholders on the Konsulta Package, Sabling said.
The Konsulta package which is among the banner programs of the government is a primary care benefit package in line with the Universal Health Care Act. It covers preventive care including consultations, health risks screening and assessment, laboratory tests, and some maintenance drugs and medicines.
“Ito po ‘yung ating primary care benefit na pumupunta sa health centers para magpa-check up so that nababawasan na ‘yung nagpupunta sa hospitals, so preventive po ‘yung ating focus dito,” Sabling explained.
“Excessive naman ‘yung ating information drive sa ating mga members pero hindi nila alam na sila pala dapat ay ma-register sa ating mga health centers na Konsulta-accredited,” he said.
Sabling shared that around 1,100 individuals will be subjected to first-patient encounter during the caravan. These individuals will be profiled by health workers from the ten Konsulta-accredited health centers in the city before they avail of the Konsulta package.
With the first-patient encounter, PhilHealth pays P500.00 with complete consultation in a government health care institution, which is lower compared to the P700.00 in private institutions.
PhilHealth members may register through the member portal at www.philhealth.com or through the help of a social worker in an accredited Konsulta facility, local government unit, or at PhilHealth local insurance office. **JDP/DEG-PIA CAR
