CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) – The Kalinga State University (KSU) provided coconut processing equipment to folks in barangays Naneng and Bagumbayam, this city to boost their “inandila” making venture.
The recipient communities are known for their “inandila”, a glutinous rice product cooked with coco-milk.
The equipment package consisted of coconut de-husker, coconut grater, cocomilk extractor, crop grinder, flour mill and solar panel crop dryer.
Solomon Lao-aten of the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) said the assistance is under KSU’s Agricultural and Bio-system Engineering extension program. The equipment, he said, were assembled and designed by their CEIT students.
Naneng folks and most of the province’s communities serve inandila as special treat during celebrations like weddings, festivals and grand occasions.
With the new normal, Naneng and Bagumbayan declared to hold again their ‘Inandila Festival’ which was cancelled during the pandemic.
