CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) – – The Kalinga State University (KSU) Birthing Center succeeded in its first clinical delivery of a baby girl through normal delivery.
The University Information Office (UIO) reported that on June 4, 2023 at 7:05 PM, Winie Sagao Ambong, a resident of Tawang, Balbalan, gave birth to a healthy baby girl weighing 3.14 kilograms at the KSU Birthing Center. The delivery conducted through normal spontaneous delivery was supervised by a team of clinical instructors from the College of Health and Natural Sciences.
“The birth of the child named Zoffany Bless Ambong brought immense joy to her parents and the entire birthing team. Her arrival symbolizes the successful collaboration between the medical professionals and the birthing center, making it a momentous occasion for all involved,” Mary June Wacas of the KSU-UIO said.
The center’s excellent facilities and well-trained staff contributed to creating a calm and comfortable environment for Mrs. Ambong during her delivery, said Wacas.
Leading the team was Dr. Mary Durance Guyang, an affiliated Obstetrics and Gynecology doctor, who ensured the highest level of medical expertise throughout the process. Clinical instructors on duty, Marlita Quesada, Karen Ligab, Teodifel Lao-aten and Christina Chomeg, worked tirelessly during the delivery.
Assisting the clinical instructors were two midwifery students, Rocel Clemencia and Jane Balangue, who gained valuable hands-on experience as they actively participated in the delivery process.
Under the supervision of Dr. Cristina Ammakiw, Dean of the College of Health and Natural Sciences, the center has set a new standard in maternal care, marking a triumph for the dedicated team of healthcare professionals and staff.
