BAGUIO CITY – A New Year brings new opportunities to serve the public even better.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan “rallied the troops” in his first message to city officials, department heads and employees for 2018 on Monday’s flag-raising ceremonies at City Hall.
As he thanked and congratulated government workers for a successful 2017, the mayor exhorted a doubling of efforts this year in bringing quality and courteous service to the public and put them above personal considerations.
He pointed out that every member of government, no matter what position, performs an important role in the effectiveness, efficiency and success of any administration.
The chief executive stressed that serving the public with respect, to the best of one’s abilities and without expecting anything in return is the essence of being a civil servant.
Domogan also encouraged city workers to continuously improve themselves and their performance as they slowly but surely climb the ladder of success that would benefit not only themselves and their families but also the public they serve.
“Let us also forgive those who have wronged us last year and ask for forgiveness from those we have caused harm. This will enable us to move forward and have real change for the better,” he said.
Earlier, the mayor, Rep. Mark Go and Vice Mayor Edison Bilog appealed for more volunteers in assisting the city government’s campaigns against illegal graffiti, smoking and more.
They said that government cannot do it alone in solving the city’s myriad problems but needs the cooperation and help of all sectors to be successful.**gaby keith
