To recognize the graduating class, the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) held its 53rd Commencement Exercises on June 14-15, 2024 at the Eyeb Covered Gymnasium in Bontoc Mountain Province with over 700 graduates from various programs. The ceremony, themed “Globalization: Transcending Global Borders Cultivating Local Culture” highlighted the graduates’ achievements and their potential to contribute to the region’s workforce.
The ceremony celebrates the college’s a wide range of academic programs. This diversity reflects MPSPC’s contribution to developing a well-rounded workforce in Mountain Province.
The first batch consists of 386 graduates from the College of Criminal Justice Education with 196 graduates; College of Nursing with 171 graduates; and College of Political Science with 19 graduates.
The second batch comprised 312 graduates from undergraduate programs and two graduates who earned their master’s degrees. Two graduates from the School of Advance Education; 18 from Accountancy; 42 from Business Administration Major in Financial Management; 14 from Business Administration Major in Marketing Management; 27 from Hospitality Management; one from Hotel and Restaurant Management; 17 from Tourism Management; one from Tourism, 11 from Information Technology; 13 from Office Administration; 64 from Secondary Education Major in English; 10 from Secondary Education Major in Mathematics; five graduates from Secondary Education Major in Science; one from Secondary Education Major in Physical Science; 36 from Secondary Education Major in Social Studies, 47 from Elementary Education; two from Early Childhood Education; and three from Special Needs Education.
Guest speaker, Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog, emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting higher education. He encouraged the graduates to continue to empower and inspired all the stakeholders to work together to ensure a sustainable future for MPSPC.

Bayat ti panangawagmi kadakayo ita nga aldaw a nagturpos,awisen mi dakayo a makikadua kadakami nga agtultuloy a mangpabileg ken mangparegta kadagiti amin a maseknantayo nga agtitinulong tapno masigurado ti natalged a masakbayan para iti ay-ayaten tayo nga MPSPC wenno MPSU (The responsibility of the government in the provision of education is significant. Despite our call to all of you who have finished this day, we urge you to join us in continuing to develop and innovate our most helpful ways to ensure the peaceful and successful future of our beloved MPSPC or MPSU),” Dalog added.
Additionally, Dalog shared the importance of shaping the institution into a leader in local and global socio-economic education arenas, “Through dialogue and action we can provide an extraordinary and impactful learning experience to our local and global learning communities.”
In the message of MPSC President Dr. Edgar Cue, he encouraged the graduates to give gratitude to their parents and guardians, “Ayamanak ken ayayaten ka (Thank you, and I love you).” He added that these words can be spoken in different words and gestures but it holds a powerful meaning.
Caren F. Tay-an, a Bachelor of Science in Criminology graduate, said that it was one of the happiest events of her life. After all the trials she faced, she completed her studies and she was grateful to everyone who helped and pushed her to pass this course, especially his parents, who sacrificed all their needs.
Juan Taya-an, the father of the graduate, expressed ”Maysa kadagit kasyaatan a sagut nga ited kadagiti annakmi ket ti edukasyon,ket naragsak kami gapu ta natungpal ti maysa nga arapaapna (one of the best gifts to give to our children is education ,and we are happy because one of her dreams came true).”
