As I dove into the waters, wielding
my fears,
Although serene, I shiver with tears.
The desire for warmth,
to be loved and held,
Embraced with hope, I gently welled.
The everglades of green, a sight so keen, My breath entwined,
my struggle is not seen.
Hands are reached up above my head,
So close yet far where life is ahead.
Will I drown in my sorrow
along with everything?
Regret has filled my heart
from the very beginning.
Gasping for a chance,
gripping onto my life,
Then the light came, where I again,
am alive.
The surface, where my dreams were before me,
Emerging from the water,
where I run freely.
Chasing for glory, getting
closer each day,
As I look back at my ocean, where I left my sorrows, floating away.
