CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga– Residents of the province would soon be relieved from traveling to the nearest National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) office in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan to seek clearance with the opening of the Bureau’s satellite office here.
NBI Director Dante A. Gierran was met with loud applause after announcing the move to make accessible to the province the Bureau’s services especially the issuance of clearances.
Gierran was the keynote speaker during the 2019 Matagoan Festival and 12th Tabuk City Foundation Day celebration on June 26.
As a policy, a satellite office functions like a regular branch offering the NBI’s major services except post-mortem investigation, Gierran said.
Tabuk City Mayor Ferdinand B. Tubban extended the city government’s counterpart by funding construction of the office within the City Hall compound.
“Our long prayer for this need is now answered and our city would always be willing to share its resources on services for our people,” Tubban said.
Meanwhile, the provincial government also donated a lot for the NBI provincial office site at the government reservation area near the provincial capitol compound.
Gierran assured he will work for the appropriation of funds for the establishment of the office in the province. **JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga
