There is really a need for the administration of Governor Jerry Dalipog of Ifugao to explore partnerships with other entities in the national government in infrastructure development to maximize the potential gains for the province.
A case in point: the still unfinished Ifugao Sports Complex (ISC). Small wonder, the provincial board is seeking funding assistance of Php 1.5 billion from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) for the remaining works of the ISC. And sure enough, many are awaiting of the PSC’s response. Wait and just be patient, until we hear what happens next.
What did that mean? It meant a lot for the governor. Governor Dalipog is incredibly good at anything he’s ever done-all for ensuring that it redound to the public benefit. It clearly shows that the real interest of Governor Dalipog has been in developing the sports program.
After all, Ifugao needs a world-class, technologically-advanced sport facility designed to endure generations. Nothing less.
Now more than ever, its important to keep the athletes in top shape. There’s no thinking twice when it comes to realizing this dream. That’s why I’m strongly pushing for its completion. With the motivation to fast track this action, I wrote President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on this matter.
Excerpts of said letter: For long-time Ifugao lives are noticeably difficult in taking part in regional, national and international competitions.
Governor Dalipog recognized the importance of addressing these needs of the athletes when be pursued the Ifugao Sports Complex (ISC) construction program. To this day, however, its still not fully operational. Lack of resources only exacerbate the situation. Uncertainties have intensified because of the ongoing energy crisis.
By convention, the ISC is viewed as the parameter for staging the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA), the region’s prestige-laden sporting event.
Few provinces get an easy, quick, substantial and guaranteed assistance for its sports development program as Ifugao.
This urgent intervention for the welfare of our athletes is indeed a step in the right direction.
This will be a big help to Ifugao. Aside from addressing this particular need of the ISC, it will likely result to boosting the tourism industry.
It is my fervent hope and prayer that the days in which Ifugao could be set aside in the background, relegated to third-class importance, could be over. Your intercession is highly appreciated.
I look forward to such development, as we continue to be fully mindful of this game-changing action for the completion of the ISC shall benefit present and future generations of Filipinos.
Ifugao has long been underserved by its lack of a modern sports complex, limiting its ability to fully participate in major sports events. Henceforth, more public funds should be available for the development of Ifugao.
Fortunately, Governor Dalipog hasn’t stop caring for the athletes. He remains ever committed to improving their lives. Let us not lose sight of this development.
