KIANGAN, Ifugao (PIA) – – No one of the more than 100 rehabilitated drug personalities at the Ifugao Reflection Camp (IRC) here has relapsed in the first three months of their aftercare, according to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (PSWDO).
Joseline Niwane said that based on the monitoring and validation of anti-drug abuse councils, the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, no one of the 109 rehabilitated drug personalities (RDPs) has returned to his old ways as supplier, pusher or user of illegal drugs.
“All of them appeared to be sustaining an average of 80% compliance with their Individual Recovery Plans while more than half or 62% of those in aftercare are involved in family-focused livelihood projects with loans granted by the Department of Labor and Employment”, Niwane disclosed.
The 109 RDPs have completed the six-month community-based drug rehabilitation program involving physical, psychological, spiritual reformation, and capacity building and skills training at the provincial-government run rehabilitation facility.
Meanwhile, the Ifugao Police Provincial Office reported that from July 2016 to the present, a total of 19 drug personalities were arrested in marijuana eradication drives, implementation of search warrants and warrants of arrest and buy bust operations.**By Marcelo B. Lihgawon
