This year’s school opening was filled with more excitement for more than 300 pupils of Otucan Norte Elementary School and Otucan Sur Elementary School in Bauko, Mountain Province.
This is after receiving additional school supplies for the school year from Hedcor. Greeted by a delighted atmosphere, Hedcor employee volunteers delivered door-to-door the school materials to the two schools. Each pupil received a pack of notebooks, pad papers, crayons, pens, pencils, a sharpener and an eraser as supplementary school materials.
To foster health care to the young people, Hedcor also distributed hygiene kits to the children and conducted a lecture on basic health care. The kit was composed of a face towel, bath soaps, toothbrush, toothpaste and a sanitizing alcohol.
The school supplies and hygiene kit distribution is one of the programs of Hedcor to support education in its host communities.
Hedcor operates the 14 MW Sabangan Hydro in Sabangan, Mtn. Province, its first hydropower plant in the province.**
