A man’s best friend can always be relied on. Whether it is to guard our homes from intruders. Or to give us company in our times of need. Their smiles have the capability to turn a bad day into a good one. A bland experience into a series of never-ending euphoria.
Too much of something can be unhealthy, but times spent with our furry friends can never be enough. Their wagging tails, from left to right, and back to left again, like a waving talisman waving bad spirits away leaving nothing but happiness and positivity.
An empty property is a peaceful one, but with no dogs running around the yard, it can be a little boring.
A picture-perfect scenery almost always includes a beautiful brown dog as he grazes across a field of grass. Or a white aspin laying down under the sun, completely at peace and calm as one can be.
Whether they be gray or any other color, the same big smile that lights up your day can be found in every one of them. Loyalty and joyfulness, the few of the many traits that make our lovable dogs even more so. And when we think they couldn’t get any cuter, a puppy shines even brighter. With even more energy and an even bigger smile, the small bundle of joy can be a handful, but all of those trials would be worth it the moment they jump into our arms.
So, as friends of humanity, it is only right for their rights to be respected and to fight for. Just like us, they can feel, breathe, love one another, and get hurt. Though we stand taller, they deserve to be seen in the same view with respect and love. Not to be treated with indignity and hate.
In some parts of this country, dogs are still treated as foods or for their own versions of cock fighting. As beings blessed with the ability to think and rationalize, it is our duty to raise our animals into the same view we see ourselves with. Not to lay down on all fours and go beneath animals.
An enlightened society should have no trouble in seeing the just and appropriateness of animal rights.
A society that treats all life as equals should flourish with life in return. However, one that lays content in seeing others beneath will be blinded from the true beauty of life on this earth.
A friend must be treated as a friend in return. And for all our pets and animals, for all that they give to us, the least we can give in return is the same respect as we would give to a fellow human being.
