BAGUIO CITY – The Public Employment Service Office of Baguio copped six awards including the Top Performer plum in the Search for the 2016 Best Regional PESO of the Dept. of Labor and Employment Cordillera Administrative Region (DOLE-CAR).
The PESO Baguio headed by designate and Executive Assistant Jose Atanacio of the city mayor’s office received the plaques of recognition from DOLE-CAR officer-in-charge regional director Exequiel Ronie Guzman during the DOLE-CAR PESO Year-End Planning Assessment held in Hotel Elizabeth last Jan. 11.
The PESO Baguio was recognized for being the top performer in the highly urbanized city category for the year 2016 and for its “wholehearted commitment and unwavering support in employment promotion thereby achieving the goals and objectives of the DOLE’s employment program.”
It was also cited for having the highest number of applicants encoded under the PESO Employment Information System in the Cordillera region with 5,107 applicants and for ranking second in the number of encoded transactions with a total of 262 transactions.
The office also received two recognitions for its creative promotion of the PhilJobnet System to employers and jobseekers with its aim of fast-tracking jobseekers’ search for jobs and employers search for applicants through the use of social media and for having the highest number of Job Fair posted in the PhilJobnet System in the region.
Moreover, the office was also commended for its support and commitment to the implementation of the Job Start Philippines Program.
In 2015, the PESO Baguio was also adjudged as top performer which earned it a nomination in the national level. ** Aileen P. Refuerzo
