The Provincial Mining Regulatory Board (PMRB) of Apayao during their first quarter meeting on April 14, 2023 at the Governor’s Conference Hall, Capitol, Luna, Apayao signed Resolution No. 2, Series of 2023, providing guidelines for the processing of sand and gravel aggregates and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and responsible mining practices by Commercial Sand and Gravel (CSAG) permit holders. The PMRB also renewed permits for three CSAG holders who complied with environmental regulations and ensured responsible mining practices.
Moreover, the board also discussed the drone survey and mapping of the Apayao- Abulug River with the technical assistance of the Geosciences Division of the regional mining bureau. The survey aims to collect data on the present condition of the river in order to identify areas requiring actions to prevent flooding and erosion.
Said meeting was presided by the Board’s Chairperson and Regional Director of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau -Cordillera Administrative Region (MGB-CAR) RD Fay Apil, and attended by the Co-chairperson and Provincial Governor of Apayao Hon.
