Over P11M worth of illegal drugs seized, two personalities arrested in PRO-CAR’S One-day drug ops
As part of the continuous anti-illegal drugs campaign of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region, a total of PhP11,360,800.00 worth of illegal drugs and two drug personalities were arrested in a series of operations conducted across the region on November 16, 2024.
During the separate marijuana eradication operations conducted, 45,000 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php9,000,000.00 were discovered at Mount Fisak, Brgy Saclit, Sadanga, Mountain Province, while 6,000 pieces of FGMJP with an SDP of Php1,200,000.00 were discovered in Brgy. Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga, and 5,430 pieces of FGMJP with an SDP of Php1,086,000.00 were found in
Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun, and Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan, in the province of Benguet.
All discovered marijuana plants were documented, uprooted, and burned on-site, while ongoing investigations are being conducted to locate other marijuana plantation sites in nearby areas and apprehend marijuana cultivators.
Meanwhile, a 41-year-old male listed as the No. 3 Most Wanted Person at the Provincial Level for the 4th Quarter of 2024 was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for two counts of Violation of R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, by the operatives of Pudtol Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Brgy. Capannikian, Pudtol, Apayao.
The suspect was brought to the custody of Pudtol MPS for documentation and proper disposition prior to turnover to the concerned court.
Further, a 53 year-old male listed as a High Value Individual was arrested, and 11 grams of suspected shabu with an SDP of Php74,800.000 were confiscated during the buy-bust operation conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Baguio City Police Office in Brgy. Kayang, Baguio City.
The arrested suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of the CDEU for documentation and proper disposition. The suspect will be facing charges for violation of R.A. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

BAGUIO’s FINEST ARRESTS WOMAN CHARGED WITH SYNDICATED
ILLEGAL RECRUITMENT
Joint efforts of Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) operatives have resulted in a fruitful outcome as they arrest a 46-year-old woman for Syndicated Illegal Recruitment in the afternoon of November 20, 2024, along Abanao St., Barangay AZCKO, Baguio City.
As detailed in the report submitted to PCOL RUEL D TAGEL, BCPO City Director, the victim was offered employment in Poland, prompting him to transfer money to secure his deployment abroad. Despite the payment, no job materialized, leading the victim to file a complaint in Isabela against the arrested individual and two (2) others. A warrant of arrest was then issued by the Regional Trial Court of Roxas, Isabela.
Acting on the warrant, the BCPO City Intelligence Unit initiated coordination with BCPO Police Station 7, Regional Intelligence Division – Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (RID-PRO CAR), City Intelligence Team Baguio Regional Intelligence Unit-14 (CIT Baguio RIU-14), and Roxas Municipal Police Station (MPS).
The accused is now in transit to Roxas, Isabela for her to face the charges filed against her.
Anent to the arrest, PCOL TAGEL urged the public to exercise vigilance when seeking employment opportunities abroad. He emphasized the importance of transacting only with agencies duly licensed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
The City Director also lauded the efforts of personnel behind the success of the operation. He also encouraged citizens to report similar incidents or any activity that threatens justice and peace within the community. “The BCPO, in collaboration with other law enforcement units, will relentlessly pursue those who prey on the dreams of our kababayan. I urge everyone who has fallen victim to this suspect’s fraudulent schemes to speak out and seek help from law enforcement,” he said. **
