Alleged arson
At around 9:10 AM of August 4, 2017, personnel of Bauko MPS responded to an incident of alleged arson that transpired between 1:00 AM and 4:00 AM of August 4, 2017 along the Abatan-Bagnen provincial road, particularly at Sitio Gipik, Bagnen Proper, Bauko, Mountain Province, wherein the Nissan pick-up with plate number SDB 810 owned by the PENRO-Mountain Province was allegedly burned by still unidentified suspect/s. Said incident was reported by a certain Cedilla Mapangdol Lumiwes, 42 y/o, farmer from Bagnen, Proper, Bauko, Mtn. Province who noticed the burning vehicle while on her way to her farm.
Initial investigation conducted by personnel of Bauko MPS and Bureau of Fire-Bauko revealed that there was a gasoline odor from the remains of the burned vehicle. Prior also to the incident, the vehicle was utilized by combined personnel of CENRO-Sabangan and PENRO-Bontoc on August 3, 2017 for an anti-illegal logging operation at the watershed of Bila, Bauko located at Mt. Ambodaaw and Mt. Dandanak.
Estimated cost– Php555,000.00. Case is still under investigation.
Serious disobedience to APA
Please be informed that on August 6, 2017 at around 10:45 PM, a case of Serious Disobedience to an Agent of Person of Authority transpired along Shanum Street, Baguio City on complaint of PO3 Larry Bodade Tel-e of legal age, member of the Philippine National Police and assigned at the Tourist Police Unit, Baguio City Police Office against Ramil Dacanayan Rosete, 44 years old, single, teacher by profession, and residing in Sadjo Street, Loakan Magsaysay, Baguio City.
Investigation showed that while PO3 Tel-e was inside their office he noticed that a taxi cab stopped in front of their office that prompted him to verify when the suspect who was inside the taxi uttered unsavory word against the complainant such as “Putang Ina Mo, Gago ka, Pulis Ka Lang, Ipatanggal kita sa trabaho”. The complainant advised the suspect to calm down but the suspect acted more rudely and even alighted from the taxi and attacked with a fist blow however PO3 Tel-e evaded it. PO3 Tel-e and other personnel of TPU arrested the suspect and a case was file against him.
Illegal gambling and illegal logging
Baguio City Police Office scored anew with the arrest of three gamblers last Friday afternoon at No. 138 Purok 7, Interior Honeymoon, Baguio City. Arrested persons were vendors identified as Ronnel Siron Mallari, 52; Eddie De Guzman Victorio, 49, both residents of Purok 7, Honeymoon, Baguio City; and Camilo Apolinario Sibal, 60, a resident of New Lucban, Baguio City. During the operation, confiscated were 52 pieces plastic playing cards; one piece improvised wooden table, two plastic chairs, one wooden chair, and cash amounting to Php655.00.
In another operation, gambling paraphernalia were recovered inside the Street Side Cafe along M. Roxas, Trancoville, Baguio City on the night of August 6, 2017. Recovered items was a set of Mahjong tiles left on a table.
On the other hand, the campaign against illegal logging resulted in the arrest of two violators who were caught red handed in transporting sawn lumber without the necessary documents.
Boyet Docao Anaban, 31 and a resident of Brgy Balugan, Sagada, Mountain Province was accosted while driving a Green Elf truck bearing Plate WHZ 877 loaded with sawn pine lumber at a checkpoint at Sinto Proper, Bauko in the afternoon of August 6, 2017. As a result, 270 pieces of pine lumber of different dimensions with a total board feet of 1,645.75 and a market value of P46,081.00 were confiscated.
Another violator identified as Jonie Sabado Decaran, 28, a resident of Goldfield, Acupan, Itogon, Benguet was arrested by the police in the morning of August 3, 2017 for the same offense. Confiscated were 51 pieces of Gemelina lumber of different sizes with a total board feet of 612.51 worth Php20, 611.54.
Further, personnel of Pudtol MPS, while conducting patrol recovered 10 pieces of soft wood (Tangile) with different dimensions in the morning of August 5, 2017 at the river side of Cabatacan, Pudtol, Apayao. Prior to the confiscation, patrolling policemen saw a group of unidentified male persons at the said place who suddenly fled.

On August 10, 2017 at about 9:30 AM MRS. JUVILYN BANGGOT INDONG, 28, married, OFW, and presently residing at San Rafael, Bananao, Paracelis, Mtn. Province with her daughter MARJORIE BANGGOT INDONG, her mother MARILOU BAKIRAN BANGGOT and Auntie MARY DALLUWAY BAKIRAN with the assistance of the MSWD personnel appeared at the Alfonso Lista MPS and gave their affidavit complaints against her husband MARCIAL MERCADO INDONG, 48, farmer and a resident of Ngileb, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.
In 2007 the suspect allegedly began maltreating the complainant physically, emotionally/psychologically and economically. When their children were grown up, he also abused them by spanking them severely while he could not afford to give adequate support to his wife and children that prompted his wife to go abroad to elevate their status of living and while she was abroad from 2015 to 2017, she kept sending money to her husband totaling to allegedly Php250, 000.00 for the construction of their house but instead, her husband spent it by having another woman and he never supported his children. On June 2, 2017 in their nipa hut at Ngileb, A.Lista, Ifugao suspect beat his minor daughter Jane (not her real name), 8, student, causing her to spit blood and suffered paranoia and on July 22, 2017 he boxed his wife brutally inside the food court of Sta. Maria, Public Market. Case is ready to be referred to the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.**
