Alleged shooting incident
At about 11:00AM of September 11, 2017, personnel of Paracelis MPS received a report from Fe Dakiwag Egue, 50 years old, married, farmer, resident of Poblacion, Paracelis, Mtn. Province that unidentified suspect/s shot dead her brother-in-law, Luis Bantiyan Puguon, 45 years old, single, farmer and resident of Sitio Balabal, Bacarri, Paracelis, Mtn. Province.
Interview conducted with Fe Egue disclosed that at around 9:00AM of same date, she received a phone call from a certain Janice Coloma, a resident of Balabal, Bacarri informing that her brother-in-law was seen lifeless inside his shanty located at the said place.
Responding personnel of Paracelis MPS found the victim with six (6) gunshot wounds and recovered two empty shells and one slug for a cal. 45 at the crime scene. The victim was brought to Paracelis Municipal Health Office for examination. Investigation is still going on.
Theft (bukas-kotse)
On September 13, 2017 between 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM along Kalaw Street, Upper Session Road, Baguio City, PO2 Dexter Valentine Preza, 31, PNP member assigned at PPSC, Abra PPO and a resident of Kings Court Rimando Road, Baguio City was victimized by unidentified suspect/s.
Victim parked his Toyota Fortuner, colored gray, bearing license plate number LGK 789, at the place of incident and left his black sling bag at the floor of the driver’s side and went to BDO-SM branch. When he returned at around 3:45 PM he noticed that the rear passenger side glass was shattered and discovered that his sling bag was missing containing his PNP issued glock 9mm pistol with SN # PNP 59606 with two magazines, 20 live ammunition of 9mm, and AFSLAI/PSSLAI passbook with ID.
Personnel of PS5, BCPO responded and scoured the area but yielded negative. Likewise, they processed the crime scene and recovered a blood stain at the back seat of the car which they submitted to the Baguio Crime Laboratory Office for processing. Case is for follow-up investigation.
Violation of RA 9262 and concubinage
On September 12, 2017 at around 5:30 PM at Sitio Diamond, Brgy Bintawan North, Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya, joint elements of PIDMB, PIB, Kiangan MPS and Asipulo MPS arrested Francisco Galano Sr., 40, and a resident of Duit, Kiangan, Ifugao by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued for Crim. Case No. 2776 (violation of RA 9262) by Hon. Romeo U Habbiling of RTC Br 14, Lagawe, Ifugao for Violation of RA 9262 with recommended bail of Php 24,000.00, and by virtue of another warrant issued by Hon. Modesto Bahul Jr. of MCTC Lamut, Ifugao for Criminal Case No. 2093 with a recommended bail of Php 10,000.00.
Subject person was properly documented prior to his turnover to the court of origin.
Murder and frustrared murder
On September 13, 2017 at around 4:30 AM, at Dantay, Alab, Bontoc, Mountain Province, a joint checkpoint operation by the Sagada MPS, PIB-MPPPO, PIDMB-MPPPO, Mtn. Prov. PPSC and RPSB 2nd Coy based at Babalaan, Tadian, Mtn. Province arrested JOSEPH TABARENG SAYAAN @ SAGSAGO, 51, single, resident of barangay Demang, Sagada by virtue of a warrants of arrest issued in CC# 2017-07-26-50 and 2017-3-28-18 by RTC, Branch 36, Bontoc Executive Judge SERGIO T. ANGNGANAY. Said accued is ranked No. 8 TMWP Region-wide for the 3rd Quarter 2017. The charge of murder is non-bailable while frustrated murder has a recommended bail of 200,000.00.
PNP/AFP troops recover high powered firearms and assorted ammunition at Tinglayan, Kalinga
Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) and 50th, IB, PA troopers recovered assorted combat equipment during anti-criminality operations at Sitio Amfayaca, Brgy. Luplupa, Tinglayan, Kalinga in the morning of September 12, 2017.
Prior to the recovery, Tinglayan MPS personnel received information from alarmed community members who alerted them about a gun burst at the disputed boundary between the Tongrayan and Tulgao sub-tribes on the night of September 11, 2017. Tinglayan MPS conducted further verification which revealed that unidentified person/s from the sub-tribes allegedly guarding the area accidentally fired their firearms that alarmed the community. The assorted combat gear were recovered in foxholes believed to be manned by members of the conflicting parties.
The recovered items were:
– One (1) Bushmaster XM15F25 with scope;
– One (1) M14 Rifle;
– One (1) M16 rifle;
– One (1) M-79;
– 17 pieces empty shell for M16;
– 9 pieces empty shell for M14;
– 3 empty shell for Cal. 30;
– 7 short magazines for M-16;
– 1 long magazine of M-16;
– 118 live ammunition for M-16;
– 8 magazine of M-14;
– 285 live ammunition M-14;
– 10 ammunition of 40mm;
– two (2) Bandoliers;
– 1 bandolier for m-203 40mm ammo;
– one (1) binocular;
– One (1) ICOM radio, and
– One (1) Samsung cellphone
All recovered items are now under the custody of 50IB PA for safekeeping except for the three high powered firearms which were turned over to Kalinga PPO for verification.
Government troops are conducting further investigation, intelligence monitoring and surveillance to determine and identify the owners of the recovered items.**
