VTA resulting in homicide
On April 30, 2017 at about 7:20 PM, along Crystal Cave Road, Baguio City, Ahron Waive Partosa Daluyen, 15, single, grade 7 student, and a resident of #321 Upper Asin Road, KM 3, Purok 1, Baguio City was ran over by an Isuzu Elf water delivery truck bearing a license plate no. RHD-275, driven by Mr. Bonifacio Velasco Ronquillo III, 19, married, single, driver, and a resident of Purok 1, Upper Asin Road, Baguio City.
Investigation disclosed that the truck with plate Nr. RHD-275 loaded with 20 drums of water was slowly traveling towards Crystal Cave Turning Point when a group of teenagers allegedly ran after the vehicle and three of them were able to hang and got a foothold on the back of the truck but the victim was not able to do the same. He and his other companions chose to hang on the side of the truck but was unable to get a foothold as he s;ipped and fell and consequently ran over by the rear tire of the truck.
The victim died on the spot due to severe traumatic head injuries.

A member of a local drug group was arrested Friday night by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera together with local policemen in a sting operation at Purok 4, Sumulong Extension, Holyghost Proper, Baguio City.
Christian Tuano Villaluz, alias Bentong, 28 years old and a resident of Sta. Escolastica Village, Baguio City was nabbed when he sold three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu to a PDEA-CAR undercover agent.
He is now detained at the Baguio City Jail and will be facing a case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act Number 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”.
Robbery with homicide
On May 2, 2017 at around 7:10 AM, a case of Robbery with Homicide was discovered inside the BAMAPCOM Entrepreneur’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative, 10-A Baguio City Market Proper, Baguio City, by Simer Arsenio Cholinas and Robert Bulatao Pacas, both workers at the said establishment.
Investigation disclosed that Simer Cholinas and Robert Pacas arrived for work when they saw their security guard lying on the floor and blood was scattered on the chair inside the cooperative. They tried to open the door but was locked which prompted them to inform Mr. Carlos Abanilla (board members of the coop.), who reported the incident to the police.
Responding police personnel cordoned the area and coordinated with the SOCO for processing of the crime scene. The security guard was identified as Robert Cabotutan Oficiar, 27 years old, single, and a resident of St. Remedious Apartment, T. Alonzo Street, Baguio City.Post mortem examination conducted by PSUPT LEAL revealed that the victim sustained stab wounds on different parts of his body.
The suspect/s broke the glass door and twisted the CCTV cameras installed inside/outside of the establishment then took the Data Video Recorder (DVR). The suspect/s destroyed the steel door and took the portable money vault containing more or less Php520,000.00, including the issued firearm of the security guard described as cal .38 revolver, bearing Serial Number 774832, with five ammunition.
Case is under investigation.
Shooting incident
On May 2, 2017 at about 11:00 PM, a shooting incident transpired along Domaoal Street, Zone 6, Bangued, Abra where the victims were brothers Dino Lapesura Baro and Sean Shendrick Lapesura Baro, 18 years old, criminology student and residents of Macray Tayum, Abra.
Initial investigation conducted by Bangued MPS disclosed that the victims were on board their MIO motorcycle traveling towards Sta. Rosa, Bangued, Abra when they were shot several times by unidentified suspect/s particularly in front of the Jannsen Hall Building. Sean Shendrick Baro managed to drive towards Capitulacion Street but they crashed at the side of the road.
Sean Shendrick Baro sustained two (2) gunshot wounds while Dino Baro sustained three (3) gunshot wounds. They were rushed by responding personnel of Bangued MPS to Abra Provincial Hospital but Sean Shendrick was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician while Dino Baro was still undergoing medical operation.
Motive has yet to be determined, investigation is still ongoing.**
