Violation of RA 8485
On December 20, 2017 at about 8:30 AM, an Alleged Violation of RA 8485 otherwise known as “The Animal Welfare Act of 1998″ transpired in Linusod, Beckel, La Trinidad, Benguet. The incident was reported to La Trinidad MPS at about 2:20 PM of December 20, 2017 by the owner of a dog, Excelgay Marie Mina Cabigat, 28, married, farmer, and a resident of MB 15 Linusod, Beckel, La Trinidad, Benguet. The suspect was identified as Resty Manman Villanueva, of legal age, married, farmer, and a resident of Linusod, Beckel, La Trinidad, Benguet. According to the complainant, at about 8:00 AM of December 11, 2017 while she was cleaning inside their house, she heard that their dog was barking. The complainant peeped at the window and she saw the suspect. She thought that the suspect will just pass but all of a sudden, he brought out a bolo from his waist and hacked the mouth of the dog twice At about 12:00 NN of December 11, 2017, the complainant went to the Barangay Hall of Beckel, La Trinidad, to report the said incident and one of the Barangay Tanod, a certain Teddy went to verify the incident. The Barangay Chairman scheduled a date for them to settle on December 14, 2017 but suspect did not appear. They again scheduled a meeting on December 18, 2017 but again the suspect did not appear. A certificate to file action was given to the complainant by the Barangay Chairman of Beckel, La Trinidad, Benguet. The case is for filing at the Benguet Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Theft (Salisi)
On December 20, 2017 at about 4:20 AM, a case of alleged theft (salisi) transpired inside Maglis Bar 2, 2nd Kayang Street, Baguio City where the victim was Kevin Barino Bancaerin, 20, single, and a resident of 2nd Kayang Street, Baguio City while the suspect was identified as Christian Dalaza Vendiola, 28, single, and a resident of No. 124, Camp Allen, Baguio City. Investigation disclosed that victim plugged his cellphone described as black Samsung J7 Pro for charging at the counter. He then left it and went inside the bathroom to take a bath. After about 20 minutes, complainant went to the counter to check on his phone and he found out that it was gone. Only the charger was there. Upon review of the CCTV inside the bar, the suspect was identified. Complainant then sought police assistance at PS7, BCPO and was accompanied to locate the suspect who was found at a videoke bar drinking and was arrested and the stolen phone was recovered. Case was referred to the duty Inquest Prosecutor,Mark Jeff Balanguitan, who ordered the detention of the suspect at the Baguio City Jail.
Violation of BP Blg. 33
On December 20, 2017 at about 4:30 PM, at Tiger Gas LPG Refilling Station located at Purok 5 Irisan Brgy. Baguio City, personnel of PS9, CIU, CIDMU, BCMFC, BCPO; RIU14’ and RID PRO-COR served the search warrant on Marcellino Garan for violation of BP Blg. 33 issued by Executive Judge Maria Ligaya V Itliong-Rivera of Regional Trial Court Branch 5, Baguio City.
Subject person was not present during the search but the operation resulted in the confiscation of 26 Solane Tanks and 118 Shellane Tanks loaded on the truck driven by Jennyson Riva y Santos, 48, married, and a resident of Poblacion Bontoc, Mtn. Province which was found parked inside the compound of Tiger Gas LPG Refilling Plant. Confiscated items were inventoried on site and were temporarily kept at PS9, BCPO prior to turnover to the court.**
