Dead body
At about 2:25 PM of February 27, 2018, an alleged victim of drowning was found at Bued river, Tollgate, Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet. The still unidentified female victim was discovered by Johnry De Leon Estrada, 27 y/o, married, gold panner and resident of Mount Rock Aggregates, Tollgate, Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet. The body was found floating in the river while Estrada and others were gold-panning near the place of incident.
Another witness June Boton Lejeros, 37 y/o, laborer, native of Cayocay, Alaminos, Pangasinan and a resident of Mountain Rock Aggregates, alleged that at about 5:20 PM of Feb. 26, 2018, he saw the victim, suspected to be mentally disturbed, roaming near the site, then she was later found floating in the river.
Dead body
In the morning of February 27, 2018, Lally Medalla Lacey, of legal age, Filipino, widow, was found dead inside her residence located at Nr. 10A, Bonuan Condominium, Happy Glenn Loop, Brgy. Salud Mitra, Baguio City. The incident was immediately reported to BCPO-PS3 at around 8:55 AM of same date by Christopher Pentia Alfaro, duty guard at 1st Floor, Old BENECO Office, located at the above stated place of incident.
Initial investigation revealed that in the morning of this date, S/G Alfaro was roving when he noticed drops of blood coming from the 2nd Floor of the said place where Bonuan Condominium was located. He reported the incident to Police Station 3 at around 8:55 AM of same date. Personnel proceeded to the place and officers knocked on the victim’s door several times but no one responded. In the presence of Punong Barangay Jose Acosta and representative of BENECO, they forcibly opened the room of the victim. The victim was found lying in supine position on the wooden floor inside her room.
At around 9:30 AM of same date, personnel of SOCO responded and processed the crime scene. Accordingly, the victim was dead for more than two days and was in a state of advanced decomposition when discovered.
Reckless imprudence
On February 28, 2018 at about 1:40 AM at the entrance driveway of Camp 8 Watershed, Sta. Scholastica Village, Baguio City, a Toyota Hi-ace van with license plate no. WIZ-775, driven by a certain Ruben Faroden Ofoob, 39 y/o, single, miner and a resident of Hillside, Baguio City allegedly intentionally bumped/hit Jenny Abuli Bao-an, 33 y/o, single parent, unemployed and a resident of #134 Hillside, Baguio City. The victim was brought by responding BCEMS ambulance together with the victim’s sibling and the brother of the suspect to BGHMC for treatment due to injuries.
Investigation revealed that the suspect and the victim who were neighbors in the same compound, went on a drinking spree. While on their way home, the suspect allegedly insisted that the victim give in to his sexual advances but did not. The victim then alighted from the vehicle and while walking away the suspect followed her in his car and allegedly bumped her while she was walking on the road. After hitting the victim, the vehicle then bumped the bridge’s railing and stopped there. The suspect walked away leaving the victim and the vehicle at the scene.
The suspect informed their neighbor Neil John Masadao about the incident who then went to call the victim’s sister, Mary B. Balutoc.
Responding duty traffic investigators confiscated the car’s keys and license plate and issued a traffic citation ticket. Case is still pending investigation.
Frustrated homicide
At about 9:00 PM of February 25, 2018, a case of frustrated homicide through stabbing transpired at Lot 8-B, Block 1 Eagle Crest, Phase 2, Bakakeng Norte/Sur, Baguio City which was reported at 10:00 AM of February 28, 2018. The complainant was identified as Jayson Lazaga Tolentino, 31, single, construction worker, native of Padaya, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur and presently staying at the above-stated place of incident while the suspect was identified as Jonathan Caburngay Clemente, 22, married, construction worker, native of Basing, Lingayen, Pangasinan and a resident of Eagle Crest, Phase 2, Bakakeng Norte/Sur, Baguio City.
Investigation disclosed that the victim together with his two co-workers Alfie Lapeña and Jonathan Clemente agreed to gamble by playing cards.
While they were gambling, the victim and the suspect had an altercation regarding their bets that resulted in heated arguments. The two then had a physical confrontation after which the suspect brought out a knife and stabbed the victim three (3) times on different parts of his body. However, the victim managed to escape to the back of their barracks. Lapeña who witnessed the incident helped the victim and brought him to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment. The victim is now confined and under observation while the suspect fled.
