12 held for illegal gambling, logging and
possession of firearms
Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) nabbed 12 individuals for various violation in three successive days.
In anti-illegal gambling operations, eight gamblers were caught in the act of gambling inside the Power House of the Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital (LHMRH) at Abatan, Bauko, Mtn. Province in the afternoon of March 9, 2018.
Arrested gamblers were identified as Jimmy Sinadcop Limmayog, 47, Alladin Almendral Chulipa, 39; Eric Litdog Tao-ey, 35; George In-inga Miing, 53, all from Bontoc, Mountain Province; Rodolfo Bitaga Gaboten, 36; Russel Paac Tupac, 47, both from Abatan, Bauko, Mtn. Province; Dale Anosan Paredes, 31, from Pob Sabangan, Mtn. Province; and Felimon Gensadan Aronney, 30, from Anabel, Sadanga, Mtn. Province.
Evidence confiscated during the operation are cash money amounting to Php25,800.00, 2 sets of playing cards; other gambling paraphernalia; 2 wooden tables, and 7 assorted chairs.
On the other hand, three violators of illegal logging were locked up in jail.
Itogon MPS arrested Rodrigo Bagano Comilang, 57, and Jesus Bagano Comilang, 24, both residents of Antamok Trail, Itogon, Benguet at Bua, Tuding Itogon, Benguet in the afternoon of March 11, 2018 after they failed to present pertinent documents to support their tree-cutting. Confiscated from them were cutting tools.
Another illegal logger identified as Bernard Motes, forester, resident of km 21, Caliking, Atok, Benguet was nabbed at Sitio Palangka, Caliking, Atok, Benguet in the afternoon of March 9, 2018. He was arrested after cutting trees in a property not his own. Responding policemen recovered one chainsaw and piled pine lumber in different dimensions with a total board feet of 2,332.16.
Moreover, through information, police arrested Rosendo Falgui Dakiwag, 42, a resident of Purok 3, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga in the night of March 10, 2018 after he indiscriminately fired his gun to stop a group of tricycle drivers from playing Kara Cruz near his house. Responding policemen was able to confiscate his caliber. 45 pistol 6 live ammunition which was tacked on his waist.
All arrested individuals are under the custody of the concerned operating units and appropriate charges were filed against them in court.
Alleged robbery with force upon things
At around 8:00 AM of March 11, 2018, a robbery transpired at PALAWAN PAWNSHOP operated by Avon Paburada Amparado, and ROBINSONS APPLIANCES. Both are located at Km. 3, Marcos Highway, Center Point Plaza establishment. The incident was reported by Ms. Amparado to BCPO-Stn. 10 at about 8:30 AM of March 11, 2018.
Investigation showed that the suspects forcibly destroyed a small padlock of a wooden door at a vacant area in between the Palawan Pawnshop and Robinsons Appliances. The suspects then forcibly destroyed the wall of the filing cabinet of Palawan Pawnshop and while inside stole the following items: Php6,965.00 from the cash drawer; and one Samsung Duos cellphone of undetermined value.
Further, the suspects entered ROBINSONS APPLIANCES by forcibly destroying the wall of the establishment thru the same vacant area between the Palawan Pawnshop and Robinsons Appliances. Once inside, the robbers took the following items:
Php140,000.00 taken from the Cash Box;
Php3,000.00 taken from the vault;
13 units of laptop (4 units Acer, 6 units Lenovo, 2 units of Asus, and 1 unit Dell), which were all taken from the stock room with a total amount of Php356,946.00;
12 laptops with the following brands: 8 Acer; 3 Lenovo and 1 Asus, and with value amounting to Php349,472.00, which were all taken in front of the establishment;
47 units of cell phones (8 units Samsung, 35 units Oppo, and four units Vivo) with a total amount of Php600,610.00);
One G-SHOCK Watch worth Php5,995.00; and
One service firearm of duty security guard described as ARMSCOR Caliber .38 with Serial number-97160, valued at Php 18,000.00.
The aggregate amount of the stolen items amounted to Php1,474,023.00.
Suicide
Please be informed that at around 8:15 PM of March 14, 2018, Rosemarie Bao-et Aglit, 56, married, retired teacher/boarding house owner and resident of Sitio Katapag, Poblacion, Tadian, Mtn. Province together with John Bisen personally reported to Tadian MPS that a boarder at Sitio Sagang, Poblacion, Tadian, Mtn. Province identified as Rizal Christian Banaken y Dayagan, 19, Civil Engineering student of MPSPC Tadian Campus, native of Guinzadan Sur, Bauko, Mtn. Province was found dead.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim didn’t attend his class the whole day and at around 6:40 PM of same date, Marina Bantic, resident of Mayag, Bauko, girlfriend of the victim, went to visit him at his boarding house. She knocked the door several times but there was no response. She then took a knife at the kitchen to open the lock inside when she discovered that her boyfriend was hanging with a straw tied around his neck. Marina Bantic, together with the boarders, rushed the victim to Luis Hora Regional Memorial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending Physician, Dr. Annie Claire B. Pekas. The cadaver of the victim was brought by his relatives to their residence at Guinzadan Sur, Bauko Mtn. Province. Case is under follow-up investigation.
