Theft
Last March 19, 2018 at about 6:30 PM, a case of theft transpired at INA’S Cakeshop, Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet at about 5:30 PM. A complaint was filed by Daniel Wanky Macli-ing, 21, single, and a resident of 0429 Adiwang Road, Greenvalley, Baguio City against an unidentified suspect.
Accordingly, a man wearing a white helmet entered the cake shop of complainant and ordered three ube cakes. The suspect requested to put some writings on the cakes and while the victim was writing, the suspect entered the cashier’s table. The victim told the suspect not to enter but he replied that he was just looking for a bigger box. Then the suspect immediately went out the cake shop, and when the victim checked his collection he found out that the box containing more or less PHP6,000.00 was missing. The victim immediately chased the suspect but he was already far riding on his blue motorcycle with plate number RH 7490. Case is for follow-up investigation.
Alleged robbery with intimidation
A robbery with intimidation transpired at Ataw Marketing, Km4, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet between 12:00 AM and 1:00 AM of March 19, 2018 and was reported to La Trinidad MPS at about 3:45 AM of same date.
According to the duty security guard, Jhay-ar Tagayo Napudu, 21, single and a resident boarder at Km 5, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet, he was in his post when two unidentified male suspects poked an unknown firearm at him after which they took his Caliber 38 firearm and handcuffed him at his back and then tied his feet. The suspects then destroyed the padlock of the main entrance and used it as a point of entry. Once inside, the suspects opened the door of the Manager’s Office then dismantled the vault and took its cash content in the amount of P1 million according to the branch manager, Ailyn Monterey Quintana, 26, single, native of Malanay, Quezon and a resident of Jewel Igorot Building, Km 4, Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet. The CCTV footages are still being reviewed.
Physical Injuries
On March 16, 2018 at about 7:20 PM at the Tacata residence located at Sto. Nino Slaughter Compound, Baguio City, Renante Nebres Jose “aka Karag”, 38 years old, butcher, native and a resident of Purok Ayala Sto. Nino Slaughter Compound, Baguio City was stabbed by an arrested suspect, Mark Angel Del Rosario Bañares, Male, 23 y/o, resident of No.157 Purok Tondo, Sto. Nino Slaughter Compound, Baguio City aided by Sheryl Del Rosario Villoza, 39 y/o, from Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, but a resident of No. 157 Purok Tondo Sto. Nino Slaughter Compound, Baguio City.
Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim cautioned the suspect that he should not take anything that was not his, in the presence of Sheryl Villoza Del Rosario. When Sheryl heard this, she suddenly scratched the neck of the victim that caused injuries on his neck and back. Thereafter, Sheryl gave a kitchen knife to the suspect saying “patayem ket din”, after which the suspect went near the victim and stabbed him on his right lower abdomen. In the succeeding attack, victim parried the knife using his arms, which caused cuts on his left forearm. Barangay officials of Sto. Nino Slaughter Compound led by Kagawad Santiago Ramos and Tanod Edgar Ramos responded to the cries for help and were able to arrest the suspects, and subsequently turned them over to the responding personnel of Station 2. Case was referred to Duty Inquest Prosecutor Elnora T. Mangallay who ordered the transfer of the suspects to the Baguio City Jail.
Carnapping
At about 1:20 PM of March 20, 2018, Joaquin Humiwat Dugyon Jr., 72 years old, married, and resident of Poblacion East, Lagawe, Ifugao reported to Lagawe MPS that his vehicle described as Green Nissan Safari bearing Plate No. TKE 355 was stolen by Daryl Paloy, 18 years old, and Dominick Julio Bautista, 18 years old, both out of school youths and residents of Poblacion East, Lagawe, Ifugao.
Initial investigation disclosed that the suspects together with Kenneth Bautista Dugyon (son of Joaquin Dugyon) had a drinking spree on the evening of March 19, 2018 inside the victim’s garage. At around 12:00 midnight, Kenneth allegedly left the two suspects and proceeded to his room. On the following day, the complainant found out that said vehicle was missing and his son informed him that the suspects were in Banaue, Ifugao. A hot pursuit operation in coordination with the Banaue MPS resulted in the arrest of the suspects and recovery of said vehicle at Viewpoint, Banaue, Ifugao. A case of carnapping is being prepared for filing against the suspects.
