Theft
On June 9, 2018 at around 4:30 PM, a pick pocket incident transpired at the basement of Maharlika Livelihood Complex, Baguio City. The victim was identified as Luz Faustino Del Rosario, 31 years old, single, sales lady, and resident of No. 240 Lower Pinget, Baguio City while the suspect was identified as Ceasar Dusalen Cutit, 30 years old, single, laborer, and presently residing in Lower Quirino Hill, Baguio City.
Investigation disclosed that the victim was at Maharlika basement to buy a giftwrap. While ascending at the stairs, a woman in front of her made a sudden stop that caused her headset to drop on the ground. After picking her headset, she noticed that her Samsung J7 Prime worth Php13,999.00 kept at the right pocket of her sweater was stolen. The victim reported the incident to the patrolling police officers and they accompanied her to the Admin Office of Maharlika Building for a CCTV review where they were able to see and identify the suspect. The police officers immediately conducted a follow-up operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspect and recovery of the stolen cellphone.
The case was referred to the duty Inquest Prosecutor Ramsey Wynn Sudaypan who made a preliminary disposition ordering the detention of the suspect at the Baguio City Jail.
Theft
At about 5:50 PM of June 11, 2018, Mrs. Evelyn K. Baguista, 21 years old, single, sales clerk, native of Kabayan, Benguet and presently residing at Babalak, Bashoy, Kabayan, Benguet reported to Kabayan MPS that the Babalak Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (BFMC) located at Bashoy, Kabayan, Benguet was robbed by unidentified person/s.
Investigation conducted by responding police personnel revealed that Miss Sumakey closed the cooperative store at about 5:30 PM of June 10, 2018 and went home. However, on the morning of June 11, 2018, she discovered that their money collection for three days amounting to more or less Php45,000.00 which she kept at the drawer was missing. The investigators noticed that there was an opening at the ceiling and a 2x3x8 pine tree was left near the left side wall of the BFMC Building believed to have been used by the suspect/s in climbing the ceiling as their entrance/exit. Case is under investigation.
Alleged suicide
At around 6:00 AM of June 12, 2018, Tabuk CPS received a call from a concerned citizen informing of an alleged suicide that transpired at purok Linak, Laya East Tabuk City, Kalinga at the residence of Mr and Mrs Raymund Besas. The victim was identified as Raygielee Diego Besas, 15 years old, single, grade 9 student of Saint Theresita’s School, Tabuk City. Initial Investigation disclosed that on the evening of June 11, 2018 at around 7:30 PM victim was uneasy coming in to, and out of, their house. When questioned by one of his siblings, victim just looked at her quietly and went outside to the back portion of their house, then at around 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM of the same date they told the victim to get inside to sleep but there was no answer so they just left the door and lights open. Afterwards at around 12 midnight of June 12, 2018 one of their neighbors heard an unusual sound coming from the house of the victim, then at around 4:20 AM of June 12, 2018 Mrs. Gemma Diego Besas discovered her son lifeless, hanging, having used a nylon 9mm nylon rope to hang himself at the back portion of their house.
Unjust vexation
On June 12, 2018 at about 11:45 PM, a case of unjust vexation transpired at Gimmix Billiard, Estigoy Building, Kayang-Hilltop, Baguio City on complaint of Rose Bernadette Rivera Lucero, single, 29, and a resident at #1 4th floor, Estigoy Building, Kayang-Hilltop, Baguio City against Denver Galambas Banto, single, 29, and resident of Bilis, Burgos, La Union.
Investigation disclosed that when the complainant was about to go up to the 4th floor where she was staying, she met Mr. Denver Banto and his group. When Mr. Banto passed by Ms. Lucero, he touched the right side of her butt and continued towards the billiard hall. Annoyed of what happened, she threw billiard balls towards the suspect. The commotion alerted her live-in partner who came to her aide. They sought help from duty Barangay Tanod who turned over both parties to PS7, COMPAC 1 before they were referred to WCPD.
Case was referred to Inquest Prosecutor Elnora T. Mangalay and the suspect was turned over to Baguio City Jail.
Soil erosion
On June 13, 2018 at around 3:00 PM, a soil erosion transpired at the on-going construction site of FCLacanang Development Construction at Sandico St., Salud Mitra Brgy., Baguio City. A shanty fell and was buried by mud/soil causing the death of Engr. Patrick Lachica, Project Engineer and Ms. Hanna Jean Aragon, HR representative when the retaining wall and a lane of the road eroded.
Investigation disclosed that the workers had their break time at the shanty. S/G Corpuz was at the guard post when he sensed a slight shaking of the ground which prompted him to caution himself and the employees, but it was too late. Personnel of PS3, BCPO, 911 Emergency, BFP and other concerned units conducted retrieval and rescue operation.
