Cordillera cops nab 6 TMWP, 67 others
In its intensified anti- criminality campaign, PROCOR operatives arrested 67 wanted persons including six (6) who are listed as Ten Most Wanted Persons (TMWP) covering the period June 18-24, 2018.
Heading the accomplishment is the arrest of Ceasar Binay-og Balawag, 19 year old, married, and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Dugpa, Pinukpuk, Kalinga in the early morning of June 22, 2018 by joint personnel of PIB/PDEU Kalinga PPO, RID-PROCOR, Tabuk CPS, KPMFC, HPG-Kalinga and CIDG-Kalinga. Balawag is charged for the crime of carnapping and is listed No. 3 TMWP for the 2nd Qtr CY 2018, Regional Level.
In another operation, Florante Gammad Donato, 56 years old, married, Filipino, farmer and resident of Madiangat, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya was arrested by virtue of WOA issued by Judge Joseph P. Baguilat of RTC, Branch 14, Lagawe, Ifugao for Estafa with recommended bail bond of Php180,000.00. Donato was arrested by the tracker team of Lamut MPS and is listed No. 3 TMWP Provincial level for 2nd Qtr. CY 2018.
On June 24, 2018, at Barangay Buting ,Conception St., Pasig City, joint personnel of PS5, BCPO and CIDG-Baguio arrested Merlina Ador Velasco, 53, married, and a resident of No. 1 Hamada Subdivision Baguio City. Said arrest was made by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Honorable Cecilia Corazon S. Dulay Archog presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 6, Baguio City for estafa with recommended bail of Php150,000.00. Velasco is listed as No. 5 TMWP station level of station 7, Baguio city.
In Abra, Felipe Altuna Vasquez a.k.a. Ipe, of legal age, native of Sitio San Antonio, Brgy Dumayco, Peñarrubia, Abra was nabbed in the afternoon of June 22, 2018 by joint personnel of Peñarrubia MPS, San Quintin MPS, Abra PPO, PIT Rizal and Cavite, RIU 4-A and San Mateo MPS – Rizal PPO. He was arrested by virtue of a WOA issued by Hon. Charito B. Gonzales, former Presiding Judge, RTC, Branch 1, Bangued, Abra for the crime of “Rape in relation to R.A. 7610” with no bail recommended and a warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Gavino B. Balbin, former Presiding Judge, RTC, Branch 58, Bucay, Abra for the crime of “Rape in relation to R.A. 7610” with no bail recommended. Vasquez is listed as No. 1 TMWP for the 2nd Qtr CY 2018, Municipal Level. He was listed as No. 1 TMWP in the municipality of Peñarrubia, Abra.
No. 10 TMWP of Police Station 1, Baguio City Police Office identified as Nelson Viray Agballog, 35, fisherman who was charged for the crime of Theft was nabbed in his residence at Pugo, Bawang, La Union in the night of June 22, 2018. He was arrested by virtue of a WOA issued by Hon. Mona Lisa V. Tiongson-Tabora, Presiding Judge of RTC, 1st Judicial Region, Br. 7, Baguio City for Theft with a recommended bail of P30,000.00.
Last among the listed TMWPs is Eleno Burbano Trinidad, 30 years old, single, construction worker and resident of Brgy. Labon, Bucay, Abra who was arrested by virtue of an Alias Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Gabino B. Balbin Jr., former Acting Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 58, Bucay, Abra, for “FRUSTRATED MURDER” with Php200,000.00 recommended bail bond. Arrested wanted person is listed No. 5 Top Most Wanted Person, Municipal Level, 2ND Quarter CY 2018.
In separate operations undertaken by PROCOR operatives, 67 others were arrested by different units throughout the region.
2 drug pushers fall in buy-bust operation
From June 18-24, 2018, two drug pushers were arrested in separate buy-bust operations by combined operating units of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), Drug Enforcement Unit of BCPO in coordination with PDEA-CAR.
Suspect identified as Romeo Abucay Tan, 54, STL Collector and a resident of Molave Drive, Asin, Baguio City was nabbed in the afternoon of June 18, 2018 along Lower Mabini St., Baguio City. Confiscated from him were one heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu; cash money amounting to Php1,000.00; and Php9,000,00 boodle money.
Another pusher identified as Joel Bagtang Appag aka “Hogler”, 47, butcher, native of Agbannawag, Tabuk, Kalinga was nabbed at his billeting area at NAPO Lodge, Kayang Hilltop, Baguio City the following morning of June 19, 2018. Confiscated from him were four (4) sachets of shabu with an estimated total weight of more or less one 2.5 grams worth Php17,500.00; another four (4) heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing an undetermined weight of suspected shabu, Php500.00 buy-bust money, Php6,500.00 boodle money and assorted drug paraphernalia,
Both arrested suspects together with the seized items are now under the custody of the concerned operating units. Cases of violation of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are filed against them in court.
