Theft
On June 13, 2017 at about 8:00 AM, Mrs. Fresca Nedic Y Saong, 36, married, Administrative Officer V of the Philippine Science High School, Purok 12, Irisan, Baguio City and a resident of Monterasas Village, Tuding, Itogon, Benguet personally appeared before this office and reported that the office of their director was burglarized by still unidentified suspect/s. Personnel of PS9, BCPO immediately responded.
Investigation showed that said office building has security guards and with Circuit Camera Television (CCTV). The Office of the Director is located at the 3rd Floor of the main building. Inspection of the doors of the Director’s Office was conducted and it was revealed that the left door bears scratches indicating that it was probably opened with the use of a card as ‘’Pick Lock”. Mr. Conrado Rator Jr Y Cueto, 59, married and a resident of No. 509 Jasmin Street, QM Subdivision, Baguio City and director of said institution narrated that some files/folders of documents were brought out by the suspect/s from a cabinet and were left on top of a table and on the sofa fronting the director’s desk. Miss Rea Janice Fasan Y Dokienes, 22, single, engineering asistant and presently residing at NO. AE 199 Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet averred that she went home before 6:00 PM on June 9, 2017 with his desktop computer set complete on her table and then when she went back to work June 13 morning, she was surprised to discover that the CPU of her computer was missing. The crime scene investigation results were turned over by the investigator on case for processing.
Robbery with Violence
On June 14, 2017 at about 2:45 AM, a robbery with violence transpired in Dreamland, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet wherein the victim was identified as Enrico Junio Gaspar, 44, married, driver, and a resident of Woodsgate 2, Camp 7, Baguio City while the suspect was identified as Lester Ambatang Banawa, 24, single, laborer, and a resident of Brgy. Outlook, Purok 12, Baguio City and another one who is still unidentified.
At about 3:30 Am of June 14, 2017, the victim appeared at the La Trinidad MPS and turned over the suspect whom they arrested in Dreamland, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet. According to the victim, he was flagged down by the suspects along Magsaysay Road Baguio City and asked him to ferry them to Upper Pinget, Baguio City. Upon arrival in Upper Pinget, the suspects ordered him to bring them to Lower Pinget which the victim did. When they reached Lower Pinget, the suspects again directed the victim to bring them back to Upper Pinget which made the driver/victim doubt their motives and asked assistance from his co- taxi driver through a radio call. While on their way to Upper Pinget, the suspect who was sitting behind ordered him to bring them inside the Dreamland Subdivision, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet. About 200 meters away from the gate of the subdivision, the suspect who was sitting in front punched the mouth of the victim twice then the one at the back choked and frisked him and took his cash collection amounting to more or less Php1,600.00. The victim was then allowed to continue driving until they reached the gate of the subdivision, however, the suspects managed to escape from the taxi. The victim stopped and chased the suspects with the help of his co- taxi driver who responded until they were able to arrest one of the suspects. Case is ready for filling.
Six offenders nabbed for
illegal drugs and loose firearms
Through tipped information, five drug users were caught in the act of having a pot session inside an abandoned house at Barangay Lumaba Villaviciosa, Abra in the morning of June 12, 2017. Suspects were identified as Regie Pinera y Castillo, 29; Patrocinio Basseg y Domingo, 42; and Rogelio Barbero y Bobiles, 44; all residents of Barangay Lumaba Villaviciosa, Abra. Seized during the operation were 7 heat sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and cash money amounting to Php1,990.00.
In another operation, a local tourist identified as Joseph Forcadela Cordova, 22, presently residing at Saranay Cabatuan, Isabela was likewise arrested for possession of illegal drugs at the parking area along the National Road at Poblacion Tinglayan Kalinga in the morning of June 10, 2017.
Suspect was about to board a vehicle going to Tabuk City, Kalinga to transport suspected marijuana/hashish to the province of Isabela when he was stopped and frisked by operatives of Tinglayan Police Station. As a result, two pieces of marijuana/hashish wrapped in a transparent packing tape inserted in his right and left feet, one Nokia cellphone and cash amounting to Php298.00 were confiscated.
Still in other operations, successive implementation of search warrants were undertaken in the province of Abra that resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the confiscation of assorted firearms and ammunition.
Benito Walis y Tungaben, 67, a resident of Brgy. Naguilian, Sallapadan, Abra was arrested after cops seized one Cal .45 pistol, one magazine and 6 live ammunition for a Cal .45 pistol in the early morning of June 12, 2017.
While in the residence of two more suspects at Brgy. Namarabar, Peñarrubia and Sitio Pagaoan, Budac, Tayum, both in Abra, the following contraband were seized: 1 Caliber 38 colt revolver loaded with one live ammunition and one caliber 7.62 M14 rifle marked with US RIFLE CAL 30 M1 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY. Suspects however were not around during the operation on June 9, 2017.
Judge Raphiel F. Alzate, Executive Judge of RTC, Branch 1, Bangued, Abra issued the warrants for the said searches for Violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).**
