Eight members of Bagni Group arrested with firearms
Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad Benguet– Eight alleged members of the Bagni Group finally got arrested in simultaneous operations for illegal possession of firearms by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Danilo P Camacho, Vice Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court of La Trinidad, Benguet.
Combined personnel of Tuba MPS, CIDG RFU -CAR and Benguet PMFC arrested the suspects identified as Reymund Barbero Bagni, Gordon Jackson Walis, Gilbert Balacdey Loreto, Shober Sumalnap Ubuagan, Eljhon Ubuagan Sumalnao, Florencio Ayao Beronilla, Dearly Langgi Beronilla, and Jerome Berona Guerrero, all of legal age and natives of Sallapadan, Abra. Place of arrest was at sitio Barakbak, Brgy. Ansagan, Tuba, Benguet in the morning of September 25, 2018.
Raymund Bagni, who was an alleged NPA member who surrendered during the Marcos regime, while the aforesaid members are alleged members of the CPLA. The group was engaged in gun running and land grabbing activities.
Three shotguns, 2 cal .22 rifles, 1 M16 rifle and 5 magazines, 4 units magazine assembly for Cal.22, and 3 live ammo for a 12 gauge shotgun were confiscated. The communnity also surrendered 26 firearms while 2 were received for safekeeping.
Illegal syndicated recruiters nabbed
Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad Benguet– The leader of the TAGORDA illegal recruitment group and one member were arrested in an entrapment operation in Gabriela Silang St., Baguio City on September 26, 2018. The group is operating in the Cordillera Region and nearby provinces.
Joint operatives of the CIDG Benguet, CIU and PIB Benguet arrested Lolita Orejudos Tagorda, 55, a resident of Brookspoint, Aurora Hill, Baguio City and Rosita Tamayo Rañada, 65, a resident of Payocpoc Sur, Bauang, La Union.
Prior to their arrest, two complainants were invited by the suspects to apply as factory workers in South Korea, but it did not materialize.
PROCOR Regional Director, PCSUPT Rolando Nana urged the public who are victims of this syndicated illegal recruiters to file charges against them.
Accidental death
On September 29, 2018 at about 2:00 PM, an information was received by Tinoc MPS informing that a pay loader owned by Mariano Tumayan Jr. accidentally fell along a ravine at Eheb, Tinoc, Ifugao. Responding PNP personnel identified the victim as Jeffrey Calhi Bayawa, 47, heavy equipment operator of the pay loader and was a resident of Eheb, Tinoc, Ifugao.
Investigation disclosed that the victim was clearing a barangay road at Eheb, Tinoc, Ifugao and when he was about to cause the discarding of the soil from the bucket of the equipment, the road shoulder suddenly collapsed. As a result, the loader fell into a 30 meter deep ravine and the victim was totally pinned down and covered by soil. Responding personnel took more or less 4 hours to retrieve the body of the victim
