PROCOR arrests four drug suppliers
PRO-COR, La Trinidad, Benguet– Four drug suspects were arrested in an intensified police operation against illegal drugs recently.
In a buy-bust operation, three drug suspects were successively arrested by combined operatives of PROCOR and PDEA at Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet night of June 27, 2017.
Pushers identified as Edwin Salvador Ganado, 39, and Rommel Paculanan Olog, 38, were arrested in their residence at Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet after they sold a sachet of illegal drugs to a poseur buyer. Seized from their possession were two heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, Php2,900.00 cash and buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia, and two cellphones. Another suspect identified as Reynan Tan Chavez, 27, resident of Bayabas, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet was arrested in a follow-up operation in the same place when he was about to deliver illegal drugs to Ganado. Seized from him were three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected “shabu”, Php1,000.00 cash money, and one cellphone.
Moreover, another drug dealer identified as Jessiemel Montemayor y Butad a.k.a. Ashley, 24, presently residing at Block 3 East Quirino Hill, Baguio City was nabbed afternoon of June 25, 2017 along the road at East Quirino Hill, Baguio City. Suspect sold a sachet of illegal drugs to one of the members of the operatives who posed as a poseur buyer before he was nabbed. Confiscated from his possession is a sachet containing suspected shabu and buy bust money amounting to Php500.00.
Arrested suspects are now under the custody of the concerned operating units and a case for violation of R.A 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 was filed against them in court.
Theft of large cattle
On June 28, 2017 at around 7:15 AM, at Barangay Tuliao, Tabuk City, Kalinga, joint personnel of PIB, PDEU Kalinga, 3rd MC RPSB, RID PROCOR, KPPSC, CIDG and Tabuk CPS arrested Fredo Alfonso Anciano, 22, single and farmer by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued in Criminal Case No. 74-2017-C for Theft of Large Cattle issued by Acting Presiding Judge Neljoe A. Cortes, RTC Br. 25, 2nd Judicial Region, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga with recommended bail of Php36,000.00.
He was brought to Camp Juan M. Duyan, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga for documentation prior to turnover to the court.
Infidelity in the custody of a prisoner
On June 28, 2017 at about 4:00 PM, at sitio Binababoy, Kin-iway Besao, Mt. Province, joint tracker teams of Buguias MPS, Besao MPS and Bontoc MPS arrested Jimmy Gamo-an Dulionanan, 49, married, farmer and a resident of Km 4, Asin Road, Baguio, City by virtue of an alias Warrant of Arrest for Infidelity in the Custody of a Prisoner issued by Hon. Amparo M. Malinias Espada Presiding Judge, First Judicial Region, Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Buguias-Bakun with recommended bail of PHP 6,000.00 docketed as Criminal Case No. 02-496.
He was brought to Buguias MPS for documentation prior to turnover to issuing court.
8 violators of special laws arrested
Eight suspects were successively arrested by officers of the Police Regional Office Cordillera.
Members of the Buguias Municipal Police Station detained five drivers including one helper in the early morning of June 29, 2017 after they were intercepted along Halsema Highway, Bekes, Buyacaoan, Buguias, Benguet for illegal transportation of mineral ore. They were identified as Joey Doligan Ligunan, 35, driver of the white Isuzu forward truck with plate number RHE 592 and his helper Paul Domogen Ana-as, 28, both residents of Bangaan, Sagada, Mtn. Province; Marvin Domin-eng Domaneo, 28, a resident of Besao, Mtn. Province, driver of green Isuzu forward truck without plate number, William Dogao Dongail, 47, a resident of Bangaan, Sagada, Mtn. Province, driver of the forward truck with plate number WBX 292; and Henry Curiman Halili, 37, a resident of Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet, driver of the ten wheeler Isuzu Giga truck with plate number RHU 939. All of the above mentioned persons came from Sagada, Mtn. Province whose vehicle were loaded with 490 sacks of tailings allegedly containing mineral ore.
Moreover, cops arrested Patrick Naeb Aclayan, 37 in his residence at Poliwes Barangay, Baguio City night of the same day for illegal drugs after his residence yielded contraband in the implementation of a search warrant. Confiscated items were more or less five sachets of suspected shabu and different drug paraphernalia.
Another suspect identified as Edilbert Almienda Batoon, 27 was arrested in his residence at Barangay South Poblacion, Bucay, Abra in the afternoon of the same day for possession of illegal drugs and ammunition. Recovered from his possession were two heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and one live ammunition of a caliber .9mm pistol.
Furthermore, a caretaker of the Golden Court Building identified as Ariel Andaya Galon, 20, was apprehended midnight of June 30, 2017 in front of Golden Court Building after a concerned citizen informed the police that the suspect was in possession of a firearm. As a result, a caliber .22 revolver without a serial number loaded with one live ammunition was recovered by the responding policemen which was thrown by the suspect after seeing them.
Appropriate charges were filed against them in court.**
