Alarm and scandal and oral defamation
At about 11:00 PM of December 3, 2018, a case of alarm and scandal transpired and was reported to Tuba MPS at about 1:30 AM of December 4, 2018. The incident happened at Genesis Point, Subdivision, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet on complaint of Atty. Raul Calputora Laruan, 50 years old, married against Jeffrey Brian Bourne, 61 years old, businessman, and a native of London, England. Both are residents of said subdivision.
Investigation revealed that at about 11:00 PM of December 3, 2018, Mr. Bourne brought out his dog to defecate, but he was cautioned by security guard Joel Abrazado, 45 years old, with office address at 4th floor, KDC Building, BGH Compoud, Baguio City. A heated argument ensued between them that later on resulted in a brawl. Atty. Laruan went out of his house to pacify, however Mr. Bourne turned his ire on him by shouting unsavory words against him and his family and tried to attack them but Mr. Bourne was pacified by Ms. Irish Brenquez, his live-in partner. Mr. Bourne was brought to Tuba MPS for safekeeping and filing of the appropriate case against him.
PROCOR strikes hard vs illegal gambling
Cordillera policemen arrested 19 gamblers in Baguio City in an intensified crackdown on illegal gambling over the weekend.
In a joint operation conducted by Station 7, City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) and City Investigation and Detection Management Unit (CIDMU) of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), 15 gamblers were arrested in the act of playing drop ball along Otek St., Baguio City on the night of December 02, 2018.
Arrested were SANTOS AGUSTIN, 23; ARIES IGNACIO VICENTE, 31; JAYPE GANONOT MATIAS, 33, CARLO DINA MARIANO TORRES, 35; MICHAEL PONCE CABIGAO, 40, ANDY TUVIAS DIVINA, 48; all residents of Otek St., Baguio City; JAY VALDEZ PASCUAL, 28, resident of Manaoag, Pangasinan; TONY BENITEZ TAMILES, 44, resident of Kalayaan St., Quezon City; JOHN MARK MAGDADARO LIM, 22, resident of Palma-Urbano, Baguio City; JONATHAN ASPIRAS MEDINA, 37, resident of Agpaoa, Camp 7, Baguio City ; ALISOOD GAMOR MARUHOM, 35, resident of Brgy. Central, Bacbacan, Asin Rd., Baguio City; ROLANDO ABALOS, 47, resident of Poblacion, Kasibu, Nueva Viscaya; FRANKLIN UNCIANO ANDRADA, 43, resident of Roman Ayson St., Baguio City; JONATHAN GAYEB MORENO, 41, resident of Middle Rock Quarry, Baguio City; and RANDY PABLO PUGUON, 46, resident of Km. 04 Asin Rd., Baguio City.
Confiscated and seized from the suspects are cash amounting to Php29, 235.00, three (3) Cattleya notebooks, three (3) black ball pens, two (2) stainless “Imbudo”, three (3) wooden dice, three (3) plastic baskets, two (2) rectangular boards, four (4) rectangular boards, rectangular shape plywood , wooden box, two (2) cellular phones, one (1) black sling bag and white plastic balls.
In another operation, four gamblers were caught in the act of playing cards at the 3rd floor of Batawa Building, Agrix Bokawkan, Baguio City in the early morning of December 2, 2018.
Responding joint personnel of PS2, BCPO, Mobile Patrol Unit (MPU) and City Intelligence Unit (CIU) apprehended Julius Guerero David, 40; Simon Oydot Allasiw, 55; Reynaldo Siblawan Sobilla, 34; and John Badal Aplasen, 36; all are residents of La Trinidad, Benguet.
Confiscated from the suspect’s possession are Php1, 200.00 bet money, 52 pieces plastic playing cards and other gambling paraphernalia.
All arrested persons and the seized items are now under the custody of the concerned operating units while cases are being prepared for filing in court.
Physical injuries
A case of physical injuries happened at around 7:00PM of December 2, 2018 at Esteban Billiard Hall, Km 5, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet. The incident was responded to by PCP 1 personnel and brought both parties involved to LTMPS Investigation Section. The victim was identified as Mr. Jessie Palonga Cargolio, 44, married, porter, native of La Union and resident of Pico La Trinidad, Benguet while suspect is Mr. Glenn Taynan Tacio, 29, single, porter, native of Kabayan, Benguet and resident of Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Allegedly, when the suspect was collecting the bet money from the victim, he refused to give it as he was not the one whom he was betting with. As a result, a heated argument ensued and then the suspect punched the face of the victim. Both parties were adviced to undergo medical treatment and in the process the duo were found positive of alcohol through the breathalizer. The victim decided not to file a case against the suspect and they amicably settled the case on their own.
