Robbery with violence or intimidation of a person
On December 7, 2018 at 9:50 p.m. fronting the gate of Magsaysay Elementary School, New Lucban, Baguio City, a case of roberry with violence or intimidation of a person transpired wherein the victim was identified as Jay David Pineda, 42, married, construction worker, and a resident of Sabkil, Itogon, Benguet. The suspects were identified as Paul Del Mundo Catriz, 19, single, and a resident of Purok 5 Pinsao Pilot Project, Baguio City, Mark Bello Mangawit, 19, single, and a resident of Purok 5 Bakakeng Norte, Baguio City, Arnel Bain Pono, 19, single, residing at Tacay Road, Baguio City, Christian Suwayan Palabay, 23, single, a resident of Tacay Road, Baguio City, and one male minor aged 16 identified as Dan Loyd Puna Siena.
Investigation disclosed that the victim was carrying a welding machine when the suspects appeared aiding each other in mauling him until he became unconscious then they took the welding machine and left. The victim was rushed to BGH-MC for treatment where he was confined. On December 8, 2018, one of the suspects, Jeffrey Flores Palma, the co-worker of the victim informed PS 7, BCPO about the crime and the suspects resulting in their arrest and the recovery of the welding machine from their possession. Case is for filing.
Physical injuries (mauling)
On December 9, 2018 at 12:10 a.m., a case of physical injuries (mauling) was reported to the Bontoc MPS that transpired in Katikid, Lanao, Bontoc ili, Bontoc where the victim was identified as Justin Wacwac Fesway, 18, and a resident of Chakchakan, Bontoc Mtn. Province while the suspect was identified as Noel Kumalao Padsing, 25, and a resident of Lanao, Bontoc Mtn. Province.
Investigation disclosed that the victim and his friend Allen Ray Kalang-ad Ganga came from a drinking spree then went to fetch the sister of the latter April Grace Kalang-ad Ganga at the Public Market compound, Poblacion, Bontoc. While on their way home, they met the suspect who was also under the influence of liquor who advised them to go home. However, April Grace got annoyed and argued with the suspect prompting his brother Allen Ray to pacify her but was punched on his nose by her sister. Allen Ray left and informed their mother at their house while barangay tanod Julia Wangwang who heard the commotion went out of her house and noticed April Grace Ganga lying on the pathway while the suspect and the victim were grappling with each other. Ms Wangwang called the assistance of her neighbors and reported the incident to the Bontoc MPS. The victim is now confined at the Bontoc Gen. Hospital for further medical treatment of lacerated wounds he sustained while the suspect claimed that he was suffering from back pain and was also admitted for further observation.
Shooting incident
On December 13, 2018 at about 12:30 a.m., an alleged shooting transpired at Purok 1, Cubet, Brgy. Malama, Conner, Apayao where the victim was identified as John Arnel Balweg Bag-ayan, 26, single, farmer, and resident of said place while the suspect was identified as Junmel Danao Espejo aka “emong”, of legal age, married, and resident of Brgy. Ripang, Conner, Apayao.
Investigation disclosed that the victim was attending the wake of Francisco Bag-ayan Sr. at Brgy. Malama, Conner, Apayao when a heated argument arose between Joy Felipe and the suspect who were in a group. The suspect left the group but when he met the victim who was delivering snacks to the visitors, he punched the left face of the victim. The suspect then brought out a firearm and fired it hitting the right foot of the victim. Suspect escaped after the incident while the victim was immediately brought to the San Juan Medical Clinic located at Barikawen, Conner, Apayao and now undergoing medical treatment. Responding personnel of Conner MPS processed the crime scene and recovered one (1) cartridge of a cal. 45. A manhunt operation is on for the arrest of the suspect.
Qualified theft
On December 12, 2018 at about 1:30 p.m., a case of qualified theft on complaint of Glaiza Tan Tan, 34, Filipino-Chinese, married, nurse at Brent International School and resident at Weiser Hall Unit 4, M-Roxas Brgy., Baguio City against their arrested maid identified as Leorelyn Simacon Anngo, 23, single and was also a resident thereat who took her South Sea Pearl earrings worth Php25,000.00.
Initial investigation reveals that the spouses Mr. and Mrs. Tan noticed that some of their cash placed in their room on the second week of December 2018 was missing, and that on December 12, 2018 at around 8:00 a.m. the suspect with all her personal belongings left the place of incident without permission but she was held by the security guard of Brent International School and brought her to her employer. During the confrontation, in front of her employer and witnesses, the suspect willingly brought out her personal belongings from a black bag and the said earrings placed in her t-shirt was discovered which prompted them to report the matter to the Police Station and policemen arrested the suspect.**
