Theft
A case of theft transpired at around 2:00PM of January 15, 2019 along Shanum Street, Baguio City on complaint of Romeo Lagmay Quilaguil, 35 years old, single, driver, and resident of B4 Upper Bonifacio Street, Baguio City against Neil Villanueva Ortega, 25 years old, single, unemployed, and resident of Urayong, Bauang, La Union.
Investigation disclosed that the complainant and his co-workers were unloading items from their delivery truck for Sunshine Supermart when the suspect surreptitiously opened the driver’s side door and took the complainant’s sling bag containing Php500.00, driver’s license, and other documents. The suspect was arrested by patrolling personnel of PS7 and recovered the stolen items. Case was referred for inquest proceedings followed by the detention of the suspect at the Baguio City Jail.
Physical injuries
At about 8:00 AM of January 15, 2019, Ramon Abello Songayab, 47 years old, married, Administrative Assistant V at PCOO, New Executive Building, Malacañang, together with his wife Janice Aoas Songayab, 37 years old, teacher, both residents of No. 10 Leonor Rivera, Guisad, Baguio City personally reported to PS1 to file a complaint of physical injuries against Moises Banagen Kinfia, Jude Gonsadan Malingan, David Kinfia, Justin Beroña, Eric Wanag, Russle Calgo and several unidentified persons.
Investigation revealed that on December 22, 2019 at about 10:30 PM, Ramon Songayab and his wife were in their vehicle along Asin Road, San Luis Village, Baguio City when the suspects without any reason smashed their vehicle’s side mirror. Mr. Songayab stepped out of the vehicle to confront the suspects but one of them grabbed a stone and threw it at him hitting his left shoulder. Thereafter, the suspects aided one another in mauling Mr. Songayab. The wife went out to pacify them by hugging her husband but the suspects continuously attacked them until both of them collapsed on the pavement.
The complainants presented a Certificate to File Action issued by the Office of the Lupong Tagamayapa of San Luis Village, Baguio City on January 14, 2019. Case was referred to the office of the City Prosecutor, Baguio City.
Illegal drugs and violation of election gun ban
In a buy-bust operation conducted by police operatives on January 15, 2019, a house painter and also a former drug personality was nabbed for possessing and selling illegal drugs in Abra.
Personnel from Abra Police Provincial Office and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Abra identified the suspect as Raffy Bondame Reballos, 32, single, house painter, and a resident of Sitio Nangaycayan, Brgy. Zone 7, Bangued, Abra.
He was arrested after selling one heat sealed transparent sachet containing suspected shabu to one of the police operatives during the operation at about 10:00 PM of said date in Zone 5, Bangued, Abra.
After inventory and body search was conducted in the presence of a media representative and two barangay officials of Zone 5, Bangued, Abra, two pcs of Php500.00 used as buy-bust money, one cherry mobile cellular phone, and one live ammunition for cal. 9mm were recovered from his possession.
Reballos together with the recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office (RCLO) at Camp Major Dangwa for examination and proper disposition. He is now facing charges for violating the provisions under Sec.5 and Sec. 11 of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act Of 2002 and Election Gun Ban.
Shooting Incident
On January 17, 2019 at around 12:15 AM, personnel of Dolores MPS received a report that a shooting incident transpired in Barangay Namit-ingan, Dolores, Abra wherein the victim was identified as Larry Tanura Baldemor aka “Aning”, 45, ambulance driver in the municipality of San Juan, Abra, and resident of Namit-ingan, Dolores, Abra.
Investigation disclosed that at around 5:00 PM of January 16, 2019, the victim was drinking at the residence of Cristin Jane and had a heated argument with his cousin, Arnel Tagudar, 32, married, and resident of said place. The victim slapped Arnel Tagudar but was pacified and Mr. Tagudar went home. At about 11:45 PM of same date, the victim left the place and after some minutes, a gunshot was heard and later, Mr. Larry Baldemor was seen running along the road and then he fell down in front of the house of Barangay Chairman Noli B. Turqueza. Nearby residents rushed the victim to Dolores Medical Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician with a lone gunshot wound (nine pellet holes) on the right lower abdomen and left forearm.
Recovered at the crime scene was a black Samsung (keypad) cellular phone of the victim and now subject of further technical examination, while SOCO personnel also recovered a 12 gauge shot shell near the crime scene. Mr. Arnel Tagudar was invited for investigation and paraffin casting to include Mr. Ronald Baldemor who witnessed the incident.**
