Rape
On July 23, 2017 at about 9:00AM inside a building located at Lot 5, Block 2, Phase 1, Eagle Crest, Bakakeng Norte/Sur, Baguio City, one (1) Rio Sotto, 18 years old, and a resident of Lower Magsaysay, Baguio City was raped by Dennis Macaraeg, 45 years old, painter, and a resident at No. 235 Loakan, Baguio City.
Investigation conducted disclosed that the victim together with her boyfriend slept at the place of incident and was left alone inside their room at about 7:30 AM of July 23, 2017. The victim was having coffee inside their room when she was called by the suspect to get the pail inside the bathroom. The victim was hesitant to follow the suspect but she was suddenly pulled inside the bathroom by the suspect. Thereafter, the suspect threatened the victim with a knife and raped her.
The incident was reported to PS10 wherein responding police personnel chased the fleeing suspect and subsequently arrested him at Ciudad Grande, Phase 1, Block 5, Lot 4, Gardenia Street, Bakakeng Norte, Baguio City. Case is for inquest.
Robbery with intimidation
At around 8:15 PM of July 23, 2017, personnel of Tabuk CPS responded to a Robbery with Intimidation that transpired at Appas Sur, Tabuk City, Kalinga particularly at the residence of Ben Oliver y Delos Santos, 42 years old, businessman and Erlinda Oliver y Bangayan, 39 years old, businesswoman.
Initial investigation revealed that at around 8:00 PM of same date, the victims arrived at their residence from Bulanao Public Market and upon entering their kitchen, Erlinda Oliver was followed by unidentified persons and one of them pointed an unknown firearm and simultaneously declared the heist. One of the suspects immediately took her light brown bag containing more or less Php500,000.00 in different denominations, five passbooks, TIN card, Comelec ID card and the driver’s license of her husband. The two suspects hit the head of Ben Oliver with their firearm before searching all the rooms.
According to Ben Oliver, there were four (4) suspects armed with (3) three short firearms and (1) rifle, all wearing bull caps and face masks. The house was fully equipped with CCTV cameras but the suspects destroyed the monitor and took the memory card. The unidentified suspects fled through the fire exit located at the back of the house. The crime scene was processed by SOCO personnel and they recovered two possible latent prints of the suspects. Case is still under investigation.
VTA
A Vehicular Traffic Accident transpired on July 23, 2017 at about 11:00 AM along Sitio Talukip, Eddet, Kabayan, Benguet wherein one (1) Michael Atolba, 49 years old, married, farmer and a resident at said place was ran over by his Elf truck bearing plate number PTO 286.
Investigation conducted disclosed that he together with his helper Max Felix were on their way to deliver their load of vegetables when the truck incurred some mechanical defect. The driver allegedly shifted gear into neutral and went underneath the truck to check the defect. However, the truck moved forward running over the driver causing his instantaneous death.
Estafa (swindling)
On July 25, 2017 at around 5:15 PM, Junie Banotan Ducyao, 32 yrs. old, married, maintenance personnel at Uyami’s Greenview Lodge, native and a resident of Poblacion, Banaue, Ifugao and Charlene Domino Nagnot, 21 yrs. old, single, cashier at Nagnot’s airline booking and loading station, native and a resident of Ibayong, Banaue, Ifugao personally reported to Banaue MPS that they were victimized by a Nigerian national identified only as Ayoola Kelvin Awok who had them change into pesos his fake Euro currency .
Investigation revealed that the suspect went to Nagnot’s airline booking and loading station, Poblacion, Banaue, Ifugao and exchanged his Six Hundred (600) Euros to pesos amounting to P31,000.00. The suspect proceeded to Uyami’s Green view Lodge where he recently checked out and exchanged also his 50 Euros to P2,500.00 and left. However, Ms. Nagnot was informed by her employer-auntie that the 600 Euros were all fake. Ducyao and Nagnot tried to locate the suspect but was nowhere to be found.
Falsification
On July 27, 2017 at around 10:30 AM, personnel of Bauko MPS arrested Ms. Vilma D. Cabigat a.k.a. Vilma Cabigat Pineda, 43 years old, married, government employee, a native and resident of Poblacion, Bauko, Mountain Province.
Subject person was arrested in Abatan, Bauko Mountain Province by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Luis A. Daoen, Presiding Judge of the Municipal Trial Court, Bontoc, Mountain Province for Falsification under Art. 172 (2) of the Revised Penal Code. She was brought to Bauko MPS for proper documentation and subsequently turned over to the issuing court. The arrested person immediately posted bail in the amount of Php8,000.00.
